The real question is. How mile sensitive is the GT4. I would say - increasingly sensitive.

Has anyone seen any up with over 15k miles on yet?

Only interested, as a potential owner who would want to drive it.

Had my GT4 smoking (steaming) from the front yesterday, after putting on the sport button (ie extra fans). I took a quick video on my phone - apologies for the music/film angle etc. Shame I didn't keep it on, as the steam almost obscured the whole view when I pulled off.

Coolant, oil temps were all in the middle (and of course, the front isn't where the engine is lol)

Wouldn't surprise me if it was to make way for a 991.2 GT3.

Water vapour by the looks of it; totally normal, even if it makes you feel a right tw4t when sat in traffic

Mine has done this after some spirited driving and then being stuck in traffic in wet weather. Nothing to worry about unless it smells sweet like coolant.

I know it is not in the UK but this one has >30k km

Edit: and there is another one with >40k km .... seems the lower mileage (10-15k km) OPC cars start around 103k, so not a massive asking price difference

If you had to choose one thing about the car that is best, what would you choose?

Think I would go with the breaks (standard steel). About 20% stronger than you'd expect for a car of this weight. Pushes the breaking zone waaay back.

Tricky , it does not have many outstanding points, but is better in more over all areas than other cars.

I cannot give it a "raw" tab either it's far from raw imo.

It's party trick (with after market geo and parts) is the G's this cars pulls, it shocks all my passengers, I think the brakes would work with a better pad as it lacks bite imo.

So while I cannot pin point it's best bit, it's just better than most others cars in more over all area's.

An RS if it fixed the mains issues would be close to perfection.

What the GT4 does offer although many won't get to see it, is the basic platform if you make your own RS GT4 is amazing, . But as many owners seems to have a gen 2 GT3 allocation I for one am swapping it out and only did rear sus and geo parts, although that was a transformation on its own anyway and why I still own it 2 years on.

my R is still more fun for me at normal speeds it's def a more interactive drive vs the GT4
A 997.2 GT3 is more raw as another example and many cars are faster.

But as I said while the GT4 does not come 1st in any area, the over all package is better than most. Hence why I run 4 cars as no car offered me every thing I like.

It's like a 2nd place car in all area the GT4 while other cars might be 1st in one area but 6th in another.

I hope you get what I am trying to put over.

I wish it had more 1st place points, but it's best bit is G pulling corner speed imo.

Yeah agree with that. Guess I was taking into account price point too. At this money and car what struck me most was the breaks. Grip and suspension / lateral G force are great too but some 4 wheel drive cars that are cheaper, and I think a Lotus, will equal that. I personally haven't driven anything sub £100k, sub ceramic break uograde that has such stopping power...

It's just a good all round package especially in the less than a £100k bracket! The handling and brakes are fantastic but then the handling has always been good on a cayster!
If the next gt4 addresses key issues ie engine(full fat version) and perhaps shorter gearing and it would be a 1st in many categories.
On the subject of the next Gt4 my gut feeling now is Geneva March 2018 now the Gt2rs is out so that only leaves the gt3rs in the 991 series which could also be Geneva 2018,in the 718 series the 718gts is most likely Frankfurt in September followed by Spyder/Gt4 next year which gives 18 months of Production to get a na engined car out before the euro emissions of October 2019 and all P cars are turbo/hybrid!

Mine did the same about 10 minutes after driving it out of the dealership, thought it had burst a radiator hose! My old Elise did simliar stuff as the water after washing/rain just drips onto the hot rads.

Mine is a full Clubsport version --- I've just returned form a 1000 mile road trip --- Nurburgring (VLN) --- Spa (classic) --- SPA (trackday) --- Spa Ferrari FXX / Zandvoort (track evening) --- Louman museum --- and home ---- with a great bunch of friends.

It's what makes working worthwhile --- Mega.
