Having daily driven a pdk 981 gts for two years and taken it touring a half dozen times putting 21k miles on it, I think it was a fantastic and perfectly capable all rounder. Handled trackdays with poise and more than enough power to comfortably despatch less well driven but more powerful cars.
Two days ago I returned from a 12 day trip around Europe covering 2500 miles and some laps of the ring in my gt4. Wow! It's everything the gts was turned up to 11. Much more raw, much more power for lazy third gear overtakes and so much more involvement. I agree that you get out feeling a little more tired after a long drive, but it's a far more rewarding drive too. It is a bit too noisy even with the exhaust off, but my other half still fell asleep even on winding mountain roads. I was worried I may miss the gts and pdk. Instead i fondly recall the memories we made with that car, and I'm far too excited about the new memories we can make in the gt4 to really mourn the gts.
Ps writing this from my hospital bed with a slipped disc. Maybe the bucket seats weren't as comfortable as I thought

.... and we don't need Twinfans feedback anymore because we know he's going to be bowled over by it! Twinfan, report back when you've had your PEC day. Until then, you're just trolling.... GT4 engine is raced in Motorsport, as GT4P says...
As our USA cousins say, I think you've been drinking too much Kool Aid! Raced in Motorsport it may be but it wasn't born there and it's hardly setting the world alight!I'm really looking forward to my PEC session and I hope the car blows me away as it has for for you guys. I have my doubts it will though.
Also ref your experience… I actually don’t expect for you to be blown away whilst you’re driving the car… no doubt you’ll be purposeful to be underwhelmed and hyper-critical …. but make sure you drive your GTS to the PEC. Its on the drive home, and in the few days after as your brain starts to process the experience and notice the differences… steering, gear shift, noises and sensations. Typical Porsche fashion - little nibble and tweaks at the edges.. greater that the sum of its parts.
As Fokker and GT4P say.. actually we’re not trying to win you over - we are happy with our cars.. we’re all just saying.. be objective.
I went from a CGTS PDK with a few modifications (stiffer sway bars, cup2 tires and R29 pads) to a GT4. And I loved the CGTS. Certainly a better allround car than the GT4. And at first I was a vit underwhelmed with the GT4. Didn't feel as quick, the engine note was not as sweet. Took it to the track within a few days of ownership, and interestingly the VMAX at the end of the long straight wasn't that different compared to the CGTS (214 KPH vs 219 for the GT4). However, after a couple of laps it all started to make sense. And within a few laps the GT4 was a lot faster than the CGTS. The brakes, the way you can attack the corners, and also the durability was simply astonishing. On the way back I drove the long way home and it became very clear that the are more different than they are alike.
The CGTS is a perfect daily driver that is capable on track. The GT4 needs more seat time before it reveals just how how it is. It takes more work to extract the performance. It is a weekend / track car. I hated driving it around town. It would scrape, there is no PDC or a camera, getting in and out of the 918 seats was a chore.
It is also very clear why they didn't give the GT4 the PDK-S. It would have been too fast.

I saw the Viper Green car (Newcastle OPC) in person on Monday night and I must say it's a proper statement! The colour was louder than any exhaust could muster.
Amazing looking machine, but I am not sure the colour would be my choice. Kudos to the person who spec'd it - it looks unreal - but I think my personal taste is more on the subtle colour end of the spectrum these days.
FWIW, whomever does buy it, they are getting an immaculate car. I was told it had not been through 'the process' yet and was still how it was dropped off so needed a clean and a prep, but I must say it looked immaculate to me. I thought it had already been showroom prepared, so a great testament to the previous/current owner.

Any thoughts on this car? I love Mexico Blue and except for the PCCB's it seems to have everything I could want including a full PPF protection from new with G-Techniq protection as well

The Exige 350 is a very cheap pile of poo in comparison to the GT4.
Just make sure you live within walking distance to your lotus dealership if you're going anywhere near a track as it'll be in there every week for a warranty issue. Oh and it has a gearbox from a Toyota diesel... lovely!

Great looking car...all the money for a private sale though. At a minimum I'd want to be buying that through an OPC and him swallow the £3.5k cost he suggests for doing so. That would still be a very good exit for him I suspect. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Doesn't appear to have PCM.
Just spoken to the seller and it sold within 48 hours but advert hadn't been removed I was going to ask about PCM, cruise and Bluetooth but as it was sold I didn't bother
No Sport Chrono either, for what its worth.
