12 GT4's for sale on PistonHeads and growing

Just had a quick look at what's for sale - think I counted over 50 cars - that's a lot of GT4's !

Agree - the price spread is quite bizarre ! Great cars though

White does look good on the GT4 with it's stumpy preportions. It's also quite rare by the looks of it which is a bonus.

After collecting my GT4 from Porsche Silverstone last week what can I say? Well, it's utterly, utterly brilliant!

I've been lucky enough to have owned some precious metal in my time (Aston Martin Vantage V12S, Audi R8 V10 Spyder, BMW 1M, BMW Z3 M Coupe, McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 997 GT3 RS and 997 GT2) but I can safely say, in the short time I've owned it, this Cayman is the best car I've ever owned!

Pro's: handling, steering, engine, sound, brakes, bucket seats, ergonomics, size, interior, user-friendliness, practicality, quality, and integrity.
Con's: long gearing (it's true), heavy clutch in traffic (man up, Ben!) and I've had to pay top dollar for it (but I still think it's worth it).

It's off to have a full detail and paint protection film fitted next week before Destination Nurburgring at the end of August. I can't wait.

I've been very fortunate to have driven some special things on road and track and I'd just say two things:

1. As performance cars get quicker and quicker the less useable and, therefore, entertaining they become (in my opinion). Personally, I prefer to max a very fast car than try to get the most out of a supercar, in which you can end up travelling at truly silly speeds. Case in point - I had more fun taking my Cayman R to the limit at the Ring than I did in my GT2, which I just found ever so spooky at times since I'm not blessed with Walter Rohrl levels of talent. As for the McLaren 12C, well, that was biblically quick along the Green Hell but it had very little feel and the engine, whilst epically strong, had zero character. The Mac also felt "unfinished" and fragile whereas every Porsche I've owned, including the GT4, has given me the impression of having been built out of solid granite. God knows how they keep the weight down, it's automotive witchcraft! The GT4 then could be the perfect sweet spot (for me).

2. For all the performance / sports car lovers out there on this site (especially Porsche owners) please stop worrying about future residual values and just go out and enjoy the bloody things! I appreciate we don't want our pride and joys to depreciate like an anvil off a building and it would even be nice to make a buck or two come resale but this is PH for god's sake, not investors monthly!

I agree with everything you say about the car. This was supposed to be a stopgap car while waiting for my 991.2 GTS but now seriously thinking whether to cancel the 991 order.

Silverstone were great - dealt with Mac who was excellent. Not my local OPC but I have bought from them before and well worth the 200 miles round trip. Mine is the more 'comfort' spec with adaptive sport seats, but I need that as my back can't handle the fixed buckets! Colour Agate Grey - will post some pics next week as I'm travelling and the photos are not on my laptop.

Someone needs to buy the Leicester car (£89k). It's a huge spec, 1 owner, ppf paint protection etc. Started at £98k, now £89k!! It's worth 89 all day long. Must've been close to that list?
