She's going!?

I thought you bought from Wolves?

Can't speak for moc, but mine was purchased out-right, they weren't interested in SOR (and neither was I). Other dealers wouldn't pay over list, but were happy to do SOR (some with insulting commission levels). I strategically sold mine! wink

Gone! I did, but that's another story!!! Drop me a message if you want details.

Hardest car decision I've ever had to make, but right for me at this time. Brilliant car, anyone debating buying one, do it.

Most are SOR. Trade offers for these cars is £70-75K depending on list price. I give it until October/November before you start seeing cars advertised at at circa £75k or less.

I can categorically say that isn't correct.

Someone needs to buy the Leicester car (£89k). It's a huge spec, 1 owner, ppf paint protection etc. Started at £98k, now £89k!! It's worth 89 all day long. Must've been close to that list?
its sold already, or was when I was in last week. I guess subject to finance.

You've done exceptionally well to sell it to a OPC. clap

Maybe not in your case, but i can categorically say that at least 2 well know independents are not interested in buying cars at list price. They are offering below list and they aren't really too keen on paying that either! One told me that he has access to at least 5 cars with less than 300 miles which aren't advertised at around list but they are not interested in them.

Thanks, was an easy decision for me, I didn't fancy selling privately at that level (though had a few enquiries), and wasn't keen on SOR (didn't want the dealer cleaning it or allowing staff/customer joy rides) and the price I got (plus an incentive) was on a par with what I'd have achieved after commission anyway. Hope someone off here buys it and uses it more than I did; happy to discuss its perfect history with any potential buyer.

Independents are not OPC's though, which is what you originally said. I had two offers from independents, neither was that low, or much below what I settled upon. Not that it matters, it hugely differs depending on company to company, stock levels, budget, condition etc.

I think if cars with sub 300 miles on came for sale at list there would be many buyers, so I call bullst ;-)

There are loads of buyer for a new car at list, THERE ARE NONE FOR SALE !

I am not sure why it's a GT4 hate thing, sales are poor on all models and have been for 6 months.

Its true, there are lots of dealers out there who would love a very low mileage GT4 as they're selling. My local OPC has 3 GT4's in right now... why? Because they sell. They had 5 in together not too long ago and guess what, they all sold. OPC's wouldn't be getting them in if they weren't selling and Ina even sold outright which shows confidence.

Judging by above and also from a few posters on here, cars are still selling. Ben above is a classic example of this.
How many GTS' are there in both 911 and Cayman form on the locator, lots. If anything the GT4 is probably outselling them, there is just more of a turnaround.

I'm only repeating what i have been told and as things go i have no reason to disbelieve the person who told me this as they have been porsche specialist for well over 35 years.

As Fokker said, the one at Leicester is pretty much at list price and still hasn't sold!

As for GT4 hate thing i'm not exactly sure what that means. It is one of the best cars i have driven and i love pretty much everything about it apart from the gearing.

The only other thing that disappoints is that so many have been built for the UK market!

I didn't say anything about the Leicester car?

570 car for the UK market. Thats not a lot. I've only ever seen 3 on the road in a year and a half and I live in a city!

Furthermore, we should be celebrating that fact that they build as many as 570! Just means more people get to enjoy them.
Sod the value, just drive them, appreciate them and use them!

Porsche can never please everyone. Too little and people complain, too many and people complain.

Mods, i think it's time to close this thread! Its just a place for people to complain.

Why don't we rename it, the GT4 celebration thread?

Sorry my mistake, it was Phooey.

Again going back to the independent he tells me that the actual number is closer to 850.

I would not repeat stuff said by dealers lol you only have to look at the James Martin thread about the GT4 sale lol

Don't trust 3rd party dealer chat ! they want to buy cheap cars and will talk every thing down JZM do it every month ! , it's easy to see they are not telling the truth as there are no sub 300 miles cars for sale at list or any where near, they want to buy at below list so they can make £15k !

The hate thing comes from talking down GT4 prices but imo it's the whole market dropping not just the GT4. and the GT4 has not really bombed, every car for sale is still over list and by more than £5k for the normal cars most still sit at £10k over.

this flipping and dealers telling porkies is driven by greed, it's a shame.

The Leicester car was sold over a week a go here is the car ! It's either sold as per my pic or the finance has failed and has come back up again.

Maybe you're right. who knows. With regards talking prices down im sure the few comments i make on here aren't really going to make a difference to the prices. Im just telling it as i see it.

The yellow one looks stunning. if i have the cash i might even consider buying a second one when the prices drop! lol

Defo stop listening to that dealer then, clearly they don't have a clue on numbers; official stats cannot be falsified, not by that much.

The general impression I got from this process was that these cars are still strong sellers (you'd think they'd try to play it down in the interests of paying less, but I guess they know I'm no fool). Those I spoke to were certainly happy to make 'reasonable' offers, though none of them overly pushy to secure a deal.
