I will probably extend my warranty after the initial period.. but will try to work with local OPC to see if they will be ok with bolts-ons like headers - and suspension components - rear toe-links, as i learn the car and require them.
Good luck with a warranty claim if ANYTHING on your car isn't original. And I mean anything!!DMC2 said:

never had issues and all my cars are not oem but I have only had to claim for a exhaust bracket and a clip for the boxster wind deflector. One cannot say you have non N spec tyres so you cannot have an exhaust bracket lol
people do go over the top on here.

I would imagine that if someone really wanted to be a git, they could argue that non-standard behaviour of related components increased harmonic resonance and caused the glovebox to fall open and break...in reality, if you were going to modify your car in any way, I would take the cash that I would spend on the warranty and keep it in a nice pile ready for any repairs. If you end up needing them, then great...if not...etc.

I know plenty of Porsche owners who have had extended warranties rejected because of after market parts. And claims rejected too. Read this for example - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...One cannot say you have non N spec tyres so you cannot have an exhaust bracket lol

That's actually a very good alternative! How much is a gearbox though?! 10k?DMC2 said:

That link has nothing to do with a warranty claim !Just because you believe something it doesn't make it true for eveybody.
just because you are wrong you don't have to start with the abuse to try and make it look like you are right.
Why start with personal abuse and bring the thread down to gutter trash.
" extended warranties rejected " is a whole new ball game and thread and Porsche can refuse to extend a warranty if your car does not pass their 111 check.
This has nothing to do with a warranty claim on a non related part !

I have already voted not for the extended warranty even though it's in warranty (maybe).
Life is far too short to own the best car in the World and not want to correct it's obvious compromises that adversely affect my use of it ...
One thing is for sure, I will tell you about what has worked ... and what hasn't
P.S. Mine was an August 2015 build ... so hopefully not unlucky on the gearbox ....

Great to hear Chris, I am on 6k miles with my mods and it's a great car after a few tweaks :-) with Sept 2015 build so all good so far.Life is far too short to own the best car in the World and not want to correct it's obvious compromises that adversely affect my use of it ...

Demon, i have noticed on my spyder that after a good workout they tart to 'drone' . I know you wont suffer this as you have PCCB. What's my options would you say? Edited by Porsche911R on Tuesday 26th September 17:36

GT3 cooling ducts, 340MM disc kit and some pads more upto the job.you can try pads and ducts 1st then add discs if you feel you need a bit more.
