If anyone is interested in that Romans car with leather wheel and knob, I'd be interested in swapping with my Alcantara bits.

Just prefer the leather.
Leather is the way to go tongue out

just to hot to touch in the sun for hands and bum and the Spyder is a sun use only car for most. so a daft option ;-)

I have heard some bks in my time but that takes the cake - considering how few convertibles have anything but leather interiors I think you are on your own on this one laugh

Yep, another vote for leather.

And just to prove how good it looks after 13k miles, heres my 6 year old 997 GTS with full leather:

Agree the GT4 'looks'okay in Agate and it is quite a rare colour relatively.

But imo its all a bit grey.

Car needs red belts and perhaps red stitching too.

And the pcm, of course. biggrin:
I'm a fan of Agate on the GT4 - looks understated but cool IMHO smile

Agate love! Plus Alcantara always makes an interior a special place.

Err, you've answered your own question. rolleyes

I can guarantee that my annual mileage across all cars will substantially exceed the mileage covered by all your garage queens.

Not that anyones interested.

Unless, like you, they are a fully paid up member of the mileage police.

Accepting that most convertibles are specced with leather doesn't make it a sensible option. Hot in summer, cold in winter, slippy all year round. Most seem to prefer the biggest wheels they can get on cars too - also a triumph of aesthetics over function. Fashion too often gets in the way of function imo.

Is it conceivable that when it comes to spec there are preferred alternatives to what you have / like? It's so boring reading you bang on about other peoples choices (that are different to yours) being wrong.

Personally, I don't like GT4's in yellow, I prefer the leather steering wheel option, I prefer PCCB's over steel, I don't like the buckets and I think they are totally pointless unless you have the full CS pack. But who cares what I think!

I very much doubt it,I don't own any garage queens! but why does every thread have to be a pissing contest, I sold my last R with 30k on it, bought another that's on 30k already again,
My Golf CS I got in march is already on 8k, GT4 on 6k and I do about 2k in the Spyder PA, in the mean time I had a S1 and put 4k on that in 2 months.

unless you rep about in a 318 BMW doing 40k miles a year, I very much doubt you outlandish claims. :-)

Do you know what I do as a living ? mile's is my biggest key issue I do A LOT !

Now after 2 year have you ran in that Spyder yet ?

Fair point but we were specifically talking about the 981 Spyder and the leather option which simply means leather steering wheel and gear lever.

The main and most important part of the seats that you actually sit on are of course alcantara, identical to the GT4.

The discussion above ( and pictures ) had widened to full leather seats. That said I'd agree that alcantara isn't ideal for the steering wheel or gear lever unless you habitually use driving gloves.

Alcantara for the wheel/gearknob is fine if you keep your hands clean - no need for driving gloves! Just don't eat chips with your fingers and then jump into the car...
