Alcantara for the wheel/gearknob is fine if you keep your hands clean - no need for driving gloves! Just don't eat chips with your fingers and then jump into the car...
Alcantara is all very well, but with the burden of finance my palms sweat like vicar on a rape charge, so leather for me.

Although the young lady with the challenged eye sight made me smile - I wonder if we should take this topic back to the GT4.

I thought all the owners on here would be pleased to hear my scientific GT4 fact.

I have had the pleasure of some lovely cars which I've taken to work - stunning Air-cooled masterpieces, a 991.1 GT3, a 981 Spyder and most recently a GT4 in yellow of all things. Without doubt, by a country mile, the one that has elicited the most positive comments (& I means loads) is the very sexy GT4 - thought you guys (and girls) would like this scientifically proven fact. smile

Yep - in fairness the 991.1 GT3 was GTSM and was Decal less - but yep no one batted an eyelid , however the GT4 gets lots of comments & as Fokker says, random open mouth stares/ points - I think the marketing people would say it resonates / indexes particularly well with 5-10 year olds - probably why I like it smile

No problem - I’m here to balance out Fokkers naughty but nice one liners - which I have to say are not a surprise considering his PH name .

Re Yellow - I hate yellow cars except for this one which I think is drop dead gorgeous (obvs or I wouldn’t have bought it) weird but true.

Yep, it’s a very pretty car smile

Colour makes a huge difference in my experience. My old 981 Cayman S was white and practically invisible on the streets of London, my Voodoo Blue GT4 gets noticed/photographed/pointed at constantly.

Richard, you have so many cars you are forgetting which colours they are!

Not good.

I know for a fact that your 991 GT3 was Rhodium silver with stitching /carbon /platinum wheels and it was one of the early cars....remember you posting one of the first pics on the 991.1 GT3 thread......63 plater if I remember correctly?

Surprised the GT4 receives more attention than your LOrange RS (with decals too!)

Bloody hell you’re right it was Rhodium - never liked the colour -spec error on my part. Can’t remember the year but it was a very early car - how times have changed smile

Ah .......re the RS - I haven’t actually taken that into work yet, so in fairness, it’s not made it into the comparator group - something to do with it being an orange, giant winged monster with stickers all over it - I’m not sure the office car park is ready for such a thing and I’m certainly not brave enough to let my mid life crisis become that public ...... yet smile

Unfortunately my GT4 has now been sold back to the dealer, after nearly two years. Sold within a day of being listed at my OPC, going for £14k over list.

I didn't make anything on it (in fact lost a couple of K after PPF and detailing) as I traded it in for a new GT3, which is now built and due to arrive in a week or two, but something about the GT4 was really special.

Somehow I think I might be back in one in the not too distant future. If I hadn't been required to trade it back I probably would have kept it alongside.

Sounds like a great deal that - congratulations smile

The GT3 will always miss what the GT4 has imo.

Both great cars but I do love my Caymans.

It's a shame we have to buy our way into the new cars, it's like paying overs at the dealer for a new car :-(

Some people call others mad for paying overs, but we are all doing it without knowing.

GT4 also has the looks and is the bomb in yellow stickered up.

I also never thought I would choose to buy yellow but it wins hands down and Porsche know how to launch the cars in the best colour, hence its red for me on the new GT3 even if I am paying overs for it.

Don't worry about being repulsive in a public domain..!.Its just the first symptom of early onset midlife crisis syndrome...I should know because i still suffer from it and i'm 10 years older than you Dave. It only becomes a problem when you start pinching women's bottoms in public usually resulting in a sharp slap..
It makes adolescence feel like a prelude for much more offensive future behaviour..

Indeed! Although I don't think it's early onset, more advanced at this stage and for those buying yellow?! Well god help them! wink
