Very good price considering the spec. They obviously don't want it hanging about.http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-customer/ipl/detail...

Would you pick up a new (to you) GT4 on Cups in sub-zero temps?*
Good cars appear still to be selling but the total on offer has doubled in number. Quite a few of the new stock over 5k miles, some (shock horror) with getting on for 20k. Not long ago it was all about cars with next to delivery mileage.

- I did in fact take mine for a blast over the moors yesterday

Not sure if it’s gone but I can’t see it on the website anymore - it should have sold as it was the best, spec, value one IMHO
yellow is the best colour it was always going to sell quick :-)The long winter months are usually terrible for my bank balance because it's during this time that I put my pride and joys in hibernation and start thinking about the year ahead: potential new toys or modifications to existing ones.
And so to my Cayman GT4....
Since I plan a few more track days next year (both home and abroad), I'm considering the following upgrades:
- Tyres: Pirelli P Zero Trofeo Rs (I had these cup tyres on my Cayman R and they were awesome but cripplingly expensive and v pressure sensitive!)
- Brakes: Brembo 2-Piece Type 3 or 5 (https://blog.racetechnologies.com/2016/01/29/brembo-2-piece-type-3-disc-upgrade-for-the-porsche-cayman-gt4-981/)
- Power: Cargraphic Power Kit Stage 2 or 3 (http://www.cargraphicts.com/en/brands/for-porsche/cayman/981/38l-gt4/engine-upgrade/power-kits/)
I'm looking for increased performance, certainly, but also usability, reliability and potential reversibility.
If I go ahead, and it's a big if, I would look to Parr to carry out the work.
Alternatively, I could save the car's originality and my bank balance a hammering by leaving the car well alone!
Any thoughts, views, and/or experiences re the above welcomed...

as others have said, change the disks when worn, no need before, but you will need pads and track fluid, I would go endless pads if you are rich, or RS29. Ds1.11 if you want the best non endless choice but both will make noise. And so to my Cayman GT4....

You need a geo and proper set up so you need at least the mantyhy kit or the stage 1 RSS kit, the GT4 is not adjustable stock so you will kill tyres and still have dire understeer. min you need cup rear toe links.
CUP 2's are stable as any tyre I have ever used and will last 4 times longer than the Pirelli R and cheaper.
The cargraphic kit is Jens design, just go strait to Jens and get the 435BHP kit, it's kit stage 3+
forget PARR they are TO expensive imo. go direct to jens and get the job done by the guy who knows the car inside out and will custom tune to the max.
I would also fit the DSC box unless you want to spend £6k on TXX OHlins , but it will again help tyres and reduce dive and roll.
And I would def get the sharkwerks light weight flywheel kit done.
simples, what a car that would be :-)
or
of if you want to do bare min regarding the geo parts

Thanks for the feedback. Excuse my ignorance but who are Jens and where are they based? Do they have a website?
Jens Ehresmann doesn't have a website, just a Facebook page. He's based in Germany and has developed the GT4 packages over the past 2 years.https://www.facebook.com/9x1.org/
He is very responsive to requests for info etc via messenger. It's where I would be going for advice and upgrades.

So teetering on the brink of doing near as damn it a straight swop for a 4 k miles GT4 against my 14K miles 991.1 GTS coupe. Both are well spec'd, although the GT4 is 'comfort pack'. Any views?
I presume that this GT4 is one I've just bought. Few details to sort out but deposit down and trade in agreed. I would have liked buckets for kudos and look but reality is mainly be using this car on road trip duties with mates/Mrs. Mrs Shost also demands heat seats plus it annoys me that bucket option leaves a blank switches on console too!My first time visiting that dealership. Quite impressed so far.
