Are there any other GT4 owners experiencing excessive brake squeal?
I've got nearly 7k miles on mine now and it's bloody embarrassing the noise it makes. it's been in to two different OPC's and they both say it't normal. yesterday i was directed towards this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUNHb9O52WQ
I would accept some brake squeal but mine is excessive!

Thanks

Some squeal is normal whether ceramics or steels.

Try hosing out the area between the pad and disc this may help.

Only had minor squeal with mine since I've had it. It's done 12K. Spent an hour of therapy at the weekend drilling out the brake dust from the disc holes (they were well and truly blocked). No squealing since I did that.

It's a track car as much as a road car. It's all par for the course on a GT car. Poke the dust out as Boxey says but also maybe take it for a good hard blast too. The brakes are made to be used and should only steal at town speeds anyway.

I'm hopefully about to re-enter the fold with my 2nd GT4 after selling 991.2 C2 GTS (miami blue)

I'm doing a euro rally event and also some SCD events over the summer so another GT4 fits the bill perfectly.

Collecting today hopefully, and a higher spec than my last car, it's the redline martini car if anyone knows it?

Will most likely keep over summer and look to move on late summer...
Did you pick the car up. Love that livery. Have had something similar for mine spec'd...

No squeal on mine. Certainly no worse than my Golf.

Yep, back in the fold, roll on summer.

This one feels so much more special than my first one with the livery, clubsport cage harnesses, carbon interior etc. Just makes the car. Absolutely in love and much more of an event than my 991.2 GTS was...

Next job is exhaust, would love something like IPE with a valve system...

"Gen 2" GT4 on track.

Does not sound like the 4.0 screamer everyone says its going to be.... to my ears its running out at high 6s or low 7s.

PDK too.

Thanks Fokker!
When up to temp during road driving (in the recent warmish weather we've been having) mine have been reading 2.1 front and 2.4 rear which would equate to them being the pressures Fokker mentions when cold.

I would suggest changing the pressure settings from Bar to psi as you get a more accurate reading. The Bar figures change in increments of 0.1 and the psi in increments of 1.0 but 0.1 bar is 1.45 psi.

how?

It’s in one of the sub menus which you change using the stalk on the right - in the units part. Same place where you change from mph to kph if you’re out of the U.K.

Mine is coming out of hibernation in early June. Going on a road trip down to South of France - will no doubt include a visit to the Gorges du Verdon!

I'll post some pictures in due course.

WOW..... Just looked at the OPC “Approved Used” Locator, and there are now only 12 GT4s for sale within the network.... Last week when I checked it was 20....!!

Proof that these cars are still a bargain at this price point...
