I don't think the gt4 will fall much in the next year either although the new one may not have the same number of speculators because the economy is certainly not quite as good as it was in 2015 like just about every retailer going bust. I think premiums will touch the 110 but not convinced there will be any buyers for them ?! I certainly wouldn't pay that much over for a new gt4

I'll double check the setup as that was from memory, but our driving styles might just be different, or I might just be faster tongue out lol

EDIT: I tried the above setup to make sure it was what I had done my 1.15.8 on and ended up getting a 1.15.3 with that setup. Here is the video, got redgate sooo bang on. Wasn't my best 3rd sector, so a 1.15.1 can be had.
got excited with a 1.15.8 and then see you got a 1.15.3 doh.

Not far off really, that difference for me was in the 1st and 2nd sector, nailing redgate and the old hairpin are massive time gainers.

This is the race I was telling you about, WEC Multi Class at SPA, live commentary. This is snippet where i am battling for 1st place in the GTE class in the RSR, finally get first in this clip. https://youtu.be/mMn_yeWDQaQ

Is it just me that gets wound up by dealers prepping a car for sale, but not drying the brakes after? I know it's only miniscule surface corrosion, but it makes the whole picture look ugly! Lovely, polished rims, tyres sparkling and bloody rusty discs! WTAF? irked

Without sounding negative you may struggle to sell that at the moment unless it’s low 70s, most will be waiting for the newer model.

+1.

And without knowing full spec, history, warranty etc.. much nearer 70 than 80.

I just missed out on a similar age clubsport car, slightly less miles and a few more carbon, leather, DAB toys inside (Also non PCCB) - that ended up selling for more tha £76k.

So clearly still demand for them.

I am after a GT4 at the moment but have am unsure whether to just wait to see if I can secure the next generation GT4 when / if they become available next year.

My local dealer has advised that with a letter of intent there is a slim chance of securing one. However, they advised that my chances were not that good, as I have never bought a new car from them before and they aren't sure how many cars they will be allocated.

Part of me thinks just crack on and buy the current generation car however;

1. It would be nice to have a new fully warrantied car (if I can get one)
2. If I buy the current generation car there is at least an average probability that the current generation cars will depreciate by at least £5k-£10k on the arrival of the next model

I have been following the market for a while and it seems that most other buyers feel the same way as a number of cars are now mid £70's and are not selling despite being a good spec, colour and clubsport.

I would imagine that these cars have been part exchanged in the high 60's in order for the current owners to be able to get out of it and into something else.

It would be interesting to know other peoples thoughts on this and what I should do, do I;

A. Try and buy one for just under £70k (current book price)
B. Get my letter of intent in and cross my fingers and toes and hope I get an allocation
C. Buy a 997 GT3 for similar money

Get your LOI in for a new one. Buy a current one second hand now. Tell the OPC you have a low miles 981 GT4 to part exchange should you get an allocation (thereby massively increasing the likelihood of getting an allocation).

Worst case = you have a fantastic car to enjoy
Best case = you have a fantastic car to enjoy and have to decide if the changeover cost is worth it should you get an allocation for a new one.

Absolute rubbish, I'm turning down much higher offers, and that is trade. Similar spec, maybe a bit higher spec, and lower miles, but trade are offering £80k because they will sell for £85.
Trade are offering £80k ...!

I am about £20k down atm, please forward which traders are paying £80k I could do with having a chat with such generous traders 1st thing tomorrow :-)

Interesting comments, fascinating to see everyones point of view.

The market has also been steadily declining over the past 6-8 months in anticipation of the next GT4.

I think given that there are now a number of cars from specialist dealers in the mid 70's they must have bought these in for high 60's or at maximum very low 70's in order to make it commercially viable. No dealer is going to go to the effort and cost of prepping and selling a car of this type for less than around £5k, I would imagine a lot of dealers would be seeking at least a 10% return.

CAP, Glasses & Parkers valuations support this, they illustrate that the values are now high 60's to low 70's dependent on mileage and spec.

You have to remember that the dealer will need to build some margin for error into their transaction, it wouldn't make sense to buy a car in for £72k to try and sell it for £75k as any swing in the market could leave the dealer in a loss making position quite quickly.

I think it will be possible to get a GT4 for high 60's but this is all guesswork it simply comes down to finding a private seller that doesn't want to part ex with a dealer and wants to pull their equity out of their car.

If anyone knows anyone looking to get out of their GT4 for around £70k please let me know and it will be a very straightforward sale.

Dealers also have to pay VAT on the margin.

Owners now though would be stupid to sell as it’s the only bargain chip they have to get a new one unless a vip client.

Expect the GT3 rush when the new one comes out and OPC have 50+ cars up for sale.

We all know the cycle by now.

Genuine question - but is that VAT not reclaimed later?

The cheapest 3 GT4's currently for sale on autotrader/pistonheads are £75K. 1 is a cat d. 1 has no spec. 1 is the gc motors car that no one will touch.

The cheapest car with 918 seats which most people want is £78K.

You won't find a good car for less than £70K. £75K for a nice spec car would be good going even if the current market for this type of car is cooling.

As for 6 months time, that's anyone's guess! But if GT4's come down in value I'm sure everything else will too.
