I am not so sure you right on that. The few dealers I have spoken to on GT4's and 991.2 T seem to be gagging for a sale and would even through their wife in if we complete a deal this year.
In fact I think the reverse could be true, you may be surprised just how low they will in fact go.....
They will goto their invoice price to move the risk out the showroom asap.In fact I think the reverse could be true, you may be surprised just how low they will in fact go.....
this markets gone, Porsche are now building cars again and taking orders on 992 and Macans, some thing they could not do the last 4 months.
I would say dealers would be over the moon to get invoice price back on any GT stock they have sitting about for 4 months.
The prices of all porches are falling, be shocked if a dealer would even pay list for a used 991.2 gt3 at the moment.
When the new gt4 lands it will hurt values of all Porsche gt cars as it’s adding more choice for a small group of buyers, this will have effect on all values. It’s going to look amazing value at 70k compared to a 991.2 gt3 which hasn’t sold for the last 4 months at £145k.
The new gt4 will sell out fast as there are plenty of people itching to get in at list on a new gt car they can spec themselves to there preference and drive the ass of it, lower the value the car the less you loose over all when it falls in price.
Most would be happy to loose £600 a month in depreciation on something they can drive and enjoy without the worry of the mileage police!
Interesting times, my names in the hat for one as long as it’s a 6 pot and I couldn’t care less if deprecates as I want to use it as it will replace one of my other cars.

Not the ones at my OPC or the ones which are sat for sale on the net!
I think overs have been covered, and the ticket price of low spec cars at £145k is not realistic as they want £25k to £30k overshigh spec cars are selling yet again another sold this week, David T, prob one of the most expensive cars listed.
we can safely say £15k overs cars will sell atm, which just makes OPC stock all look a bit daft, as all the good ones have sold !
the low spec cars should be £130k and they are stuck for sale in low specs at £145k+
NO buckets seated PCCB cars with lift for sale in manual !!! So it is what it is and people are not going to pay £30k overs for low spec cars.

I’m sure many are SOR and owners are getting twitchy, dealers may have paid for certain cars if the spec doesn’t appear to meet the current market needs.
Interesting to see a lovely touring has popped up for sale for 173k, wouldn’t of this had an asking price of around 190k to 200k a couple of months ago?

I would never pay overs again, and I feel a lot of people will be like that now it seems.
Same here. 2 GT4s - both at overs. Both saw a decent loss. Can't be bothered doing that again. I'd take a GT4 allocation perhaps from new - but would not buy the next GT4 (or any others) at overs in the current climateA number of world economies are heading for recession including Germany you only have to look at the warning signs in credit spreads. Impacting on most asset classes. Even without uncertainty of BREXIT its probably a good time to be moving towards a larger holding of cash. Prestige Car market has decreasing liquidity

Interesting... Can you point me in the right direction into some reading on the matter? The problem is everybody is so worried about losing money on cars, where my thoughts are accepting cars will kick you in the nuts.
I wanted a car so I could use on track and 2 weeks ago I bought a very high specced GT4 in the mid £80's. I have already used it on track and I will continue to use it throughout the year and enjoy it, its an amazing car!. I love the sound, the feel and the usability of the car!. Perfect for what I wanted.
And in a few years time I will sell it at a loss and start the process again!
Cars are cars, my Range Rover lost £20k in 4 years, my M3 lost £10k in 9 months etc etc.. my GFV on the GT4 is at £40k after 4 years that's £10k per year loss, just need to enjoy these superb machines and accept it, or don't buy them!
In my life the only thing I have ever made money on is watches, houses and a £1500 Ford Mondeo!!

I'm glad that the used car market is cooling. It had gotten crazy.
I currently have a 981 GT4. I am on the list of my local dealer for a 718 GT4, but actually I am quite ambivalent whether I get an allocation. I am sure the new car will be ace, but I am loving every second behind the wheel of the 1st generation car. And it is already a perfect specification for me: right colour, loads of leather with silver stitch, carbon, PCCB, buckets. Basically perfect. Only niggles are it doesn't have digital radio or cruise (I know, I know... but on long motorway hikes it makes the journey less stressful and you don't have to keep switching from the road to check on speed). I can obviously retrofit the cruise, so even that is not a big deal.

Thats fair enough and well said. Lots of us don't mind losing money and putting the miles on, I bought my last GT4 which was my third at over list 87k just like you. Sold it for 75k with 10k enjoyable miles.I wanted a car so I could use on track and 2 weeks ago I bought a very high specced GT4 in the mid £80's. GFV might be £40k in 4 years on yours but it'll be worth considerably more I would have though so you'll not be losing £45k.

Cheers to that! £20k on the range over 4 years is not bad! I totalled up my losses (probably bad idea) over the last few years and it's a shocking amount - but cars have been my hobby and passion and obsession since a young boy and a part of me would die inside if i did not indulge.I wanted a car so I could use on track and 2 weeks ago I bought a very high specced GT4 in the mid £80's. You can fix both of these, I have with my 981 Cayman S.1. Cruise retrofit from OPC
2. Online services update, allows you to stream DAB from phone to headunit then.

So what’s the ‘must haves’ on a Gen 1 GT4?
Climate
PTS
Xenons
Buckets
Extended leather
Thanks
For me I would add Bluetooth and DAB both of which come with SPP ( Sound package plus)Climate

PTS is not a must have , colour is preferential choice a bit like seats but for me the folding sports buckets would be a must have option.
PCM is not a must have like some may think on here.
And that is pretty much all you need everything else is personal and IMHO adds no value,as they say less is more!
I feel the above applies to any GT unless you track heavily then a club sport package would be nice(911 GT products)

There are no must have's really, just go with what you want. You can play less for a lower spec car and you'll sell it for less than a higher spec too.
If you are straight out just driving the thing with the radio off, then the spec out of the box with bucket seats is enough. However we all want a bit more i think.

Having had 2 with the 918 seats - i'd rather have comfort seats! Climate
PTS
Xenons
Buckets
Extended leather
Thanks
I bought based on coolness factor of carbon seats - but not good for extensive road use
My only must have is the extended leather as I hate a plastic dashboard on a top end motor
