I really don't get the negativity towards the news that GT4s are selling. The fact that the OPC stock is going down is only the same as we saw this time last year. Down to 14 today. As then, the lower priced ones have gone and therefore the average price has gone up compared to a couple of months ago. Nothing surprising in that.

The only thing surprising is that Porsche has just changed the layout of the on-line locator which is pants imo!
Got to agree about the locator it was much easier to use before, why change something that works ?

Do OPC's have a time limit for SOR's?
I suspect it's dependent on each circumstance, space on the forecourt etc.

And some of the OPCs were clearly not ready for it judging by some of the generic photos e.g. the guards red car at Wilmlsow has photos of a black car!

Sold or returned to owners due to not selling?
lol... they have been selling... Jay is on the hunt and as he reported - every car he has enquired about was first available and then sold within a couple of days of his initial enquiry... that's a tidbit from just one guy.

  • It's seasonal...
  • also people are picking them up in response to the new car, either to offer again as trade-in for the new on, or as a result of the rumours of being priced out for a new car @ £90K starting price and the allocation bum fight.
  • Gearbox recall is also very helpful.
  • And lastly ...these are just great cars that now have got a bit of a following of people that actually want a GT car they can use...they have reached that level now..as originally intended by Porsche.

Yup annoyingly they have just started selling.

My line of enquiry just over few days of the following cars:

Blue at Ashgoods
Red (Can't remember the dealer but was 71K)
Silver at JH
Birch Green at Bolton

Then the Notts Yellow car which has been there for ages, I drove up to see it 1hr 30 mins and got there and someone had popped in the morning on a whim and purchased it (He is on Porsche owners FB). I would have taken that one too!

So it is hotting up, but then I can say the same thing about my GTS, trade bids are super strong, there are only 4 for sale on AT/Pistonheads and that includes mine, and Porsche have 0 for sale as of yesterday.

The sun has come out early and boom everyone wants a toy!

I suspect very few people buying a GT4 have a clue about the gearbox issue unless you're on here...
Most just walk into and OPC and buy one knowing very little.

Plus the majority of people wont be modifying them anyway and will be happy with a Porsche warranty.

I'm looking at the locator now and its not changed??

Old one still works... Locator and Finder URL's are different

http://locator.porsche.com/ipl-customer/ipl/search...

https://finder.porsche.com/gb/en_GB/search/list

Only the 'finder' comes up for me when I click on links for approved pre-owned whether that be via the main porsche UK website or search stock for a specific OPC. I guess we'll get used to it. biggrin

lol...

Phase: Bum Fight.
Definition: A fight between low-life's (bum's) for an object of seeming worth to them... savagery is intense, decorum and ethics completely abandoned.

I think thats a pretty accurate description of the frenzy we see for the free money give-away, that is GT car allocations at Porsche Dealerships.

They said matching tyre, new fronts but good spot that they are not Cup2 which is what i would want. Also said the brakes are "fine". Just waiting on some service info.

The other one i have seen is:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Doesn't have carbon, PCCB, chrono, but otherwise seems a good spec. Thoughts?
What was wrong with this one..?

Nothing, at all from the ad.... although it is not a ClubSport... so if you wanted a CS - it doesn't fit the bill.

If you want a nice car you need to spend a bit more, you should buy my old car which is a lovely spec, okay its done a bit more mileage, but its been on Euro trips, France x2, the Swiss passes, NC500 etc, several PCGB weekends and 5 track days CC x2, Donnington x 2 and Oulton Park. Its not been abused ask anyone who knows me, always washed before being garaged. 3 owners I'm the 3rd and it had 300 miles on the clock when I bought it, used as a 3rd car.

Well....looks like it sold!

For how much? Who knows! But these GT4's are suddenly selling like hot cakes....
I was at Colchester OPC to test drive a couple of cars including the GT4 (which was SOR) on Saturday. GT4 was sold to a customer via London (Lancaster group) OPC on Friday for about £87k.

This. The spring sales frenzy has started early, and not just on GT4s.

Yep high mileage.

Hasn't got extended leather/stitching to dash and doors which most GT4 buyers want.

Hasn't got climate either only 'manuel' aircon but this and the fact it's 2 owners whilst being against the car isn't a deal breaker.

No mention of history or warranty either.
