12 GT4's for sale on PistonHeads and growing

I remember a race once where we were against Radical , Juno's etc and we came 2nd or 3 rd in the 993 gt2R , but did have a lot of verbal clashes afterwards as they were better into the corners on the brakes and we were better out .The result was we punted a few as we just could not see them , lot of anger that day sadly .
Hence I guess is the reason why they generally are not allowed on most track days .

This was my view of the market, and that people still think there should be a premium on low mileage at 3years old … which is silly really… as the cars are for driving and not really limited enough to be collectors items as such.
It's partially self fulfilling. People see low mileage cars advertised at price X but high mileage cars lower and are relatively harder to shift. As a result most people then try to get the lowest mileage cars they can thinking they can run them for a few thousand miles and get out at about the same price or a small loss (all the while extolling their spec and low mileage of course ) before it becomes 'high' mileage'. isaldiri said:

Only track day we have not been able to get on is Lotus on Track. No issue elsewhere. You are right though wish visibility. Handy to have lights which I tend to use as a precaution.

After being pushed out of the GT market as I am a driver and not a speculator, myself and 2 friends ventured into the SR3 RS market.....outstanding. Here is a quick video at Knockhill (in the wet of course) lapping a new GT2 RS in around 9 laps from memory. You will love the experience, not cheap but very very enjoyable especially if you have mates with similar cars. Hopefully see you around down south on TDs.

I was at a soaking wet track day at Anglesey a couple of years ago. The GT4 was fun, predictable and slow with zero grip. Got a few pax laps in a Radical SR8, the grip and downforce weren’t in the same league, they were from another planet. I was staggered at the corner speeds and complete lack of sliding, it went round on rails in the wet better than a GT4 or anything else I have been in on a hot, dry day.
I’m sure you will have a blast with it.

Hope to see you on track sometime Lindsay. I think we spoke on FB when you mentioned you owned on on a friends FB post. Are you using the AIM cam setup on yours?
@BubblesNW - That must of been immense, in an SR8.
The only vendor that I cannot book with is Silverstone themselves, they do not allow the Radical, but Javelin, Circuit Days, BookaTrack, RMA, Goldtrack etc no issues, so I'm sorted this year.
Everyone should get one lol.

JeffC, I think your are forgetting something, Its Scotland and its Knockhill. Dry track time are a rarity. I have not managed to get back out in the dry other than the first few times out in the car prior to getting some seat time. Fastest I think I remember was a 52.8. I'm thinking that with new Avon slicks that have only done 1 day at Coft we should improve on that time. Also there is a mental step up to keep taking, I'm within 2mph into Duffus (turn 1) in the wet against my dry run which tell you I'm a pussy in the dry......
JayK12, yes I'm running AIM. I'm a plug and play kind of guy.

I think you are correct but it is a shame because I have really enjoyed the 2 years I had the car, I bought it at 14 months old with 300 miles and I was the 3rd owner for £10k over list and have driven it for 14k great miles several trips abroad, Swiss/ Italy passes, NC500, PCGB weeks away, IOM etc which is why I bought it, always garaged, always washed before being put away and always on a trickle charger, just struggle to understand why no-one has bought it.
These higher mileage cars will be great starting point for those who intend to modify their cars. Particularly since P are replacing the suspect gearboxes ... a class act Porsche and making McLaren look silly when they would not allow faulty Graziano gearboxes to be re-built.Manthey or Tarret suspension, semi-race dampers, Jens Ehressman or other reversible engine upgrades ... eat your heart out 718 GT4 ???

Ah mine doesn't have AIM cam unit, has the GPS sensor and the cables. I presume its been taken out before sale and put into another one. I may use a GoPro and pull the data of the AIM MXL and use dashware to overlay the telemetry on the video footage. But more of bum ache but way cheaper and I can use the GoPro for other things.JayK12, yes I'm running AIM. I'm a plug and play kind of guy.

My AIM smartycam packed in soon after getting my radical so I now use a Go-Pro for footage and work with the AIM MXL data separately.
It's not ideal but I couldn't stomach purchasing an expensive smartycam (approx £840?) which gives poorer quality video anyway. I got a refurbished Go-Pro hero 4 for not a lot of money (£100 odd).
You get a lot of understanding/learning from the data alone but it would be an enhancement to have it overlayed.
Congrats on your purchase and prepare to redefine what you thought was possible in terms of handling and braking in a car
Dunc.

Yes I did a lot of research understanding the must and nice to haves. Mine actually has the HD Smarty Cam which can provide great footage when I can remember to clean the lens.

Thanks Dunc looking forward to getting on track, hopefully end of April, maybe Silverstone. Yup £840 is a stinker. Will go with a GoPro and use www.dashware.net to pull off data and overlay the footage i think. It's not ideal but I couldn't stomach purchasing an expensive smartycam (approx £840?) which gives poorer quality video anyway. What is a late CS, decent spec low miles, private sale - going to cost me.
You don’t see many for sale privately, I would say low 70s would be a great buy if it’s specified to your requirements. What is a late CS, decent spec low miles, private sale - going to cost me.
These gt4 are starting to look excellent value for money compared to other Porsche GT cars, they also appear to be selling were others are struggling.
