the thing is unless you want to loose your shirt or want a 718 GT car, it's madness to give your OPC the cars back.

while people think there are less cars for sale !!! its not the case, numbers are up as people try and get more form the sale.

OPC is the last shout and only when you want to barter for a new GT product, selling to them other wise is fatal for the pocket.

same with 981 Spyders OPC numbers down Autotrader numbers all.

about 30 GT4 for sale atm. so only a 1/3 at OPC

while GT3 and RS products OPC have 95% of the stock due to flipping for new models.

There are still plenty of buyers that prefer to buy from OPC. Most likely for the 2 years warranty and peace of mind. There were 17 for sale at OPC two weeks ago. That went down to 12 yesterday and down to 10 today. Of the 12 for sale yesterday 6 of them were different to two weeks ago. So OPC are doing a good business in turning over GT4s atm. The average OPC price yesterday was £76,857 which is down £917 on the previous month.

with trade bids circa £5k apart from a OPC unless you want a GT slot its daft to sell back though.

OPC will do good trade as many new GT4's will goto GT4 clients who are forced into this "give it back" route.

hence why OPC only hold 1/3 of the GT4 stock now but 95% of the GT3 stock.

Nice little car at £65k that's for sure but atm you don't buy today what's cheaper tomorrow esp at £1k a month drop rates.

David, I didn't mention and am not interested in trade prices! Just filling in the details that OPCs are selling them and people are buying them. Believe it or not, there are plenty of us that buy our cars because we want them and want to drive them and don't think about what the trade price will be in a few months time. Oh, and where are these £65K GT4s up for sale? Or are you saying the same as Julie718 that if the trade can buy them for Low 60's that Joe Public can buy them too?

no the Realism is if trade are paying sub £60k in some cases we will see private cars at £65k in winter like I predicted.
cars are already at £68k with dealers, so a private sale at £65k today would net you more than a dealer SOR In some cases.

Julie718 predictions are not realistic , I think mine are and he wants one, I don't.

I am not in the market for one, or I doubt would ever buy another, so it matters not to me. Those are just the prices and this is a sales thread.

Just dropped £7k on my GTS and have 5 cars, I feel the drops as much as anyone , if not more owning 5 cars.
All are driven though.

You would struggle as a private buyer to buy a nice gt4 at 65k today.

A nice car if you are lucky as a private buyer is low 70s

That’s the lowest it’s been for some time, clearly selling well. Average price at moment at a OPC is around £78k still.

A 68k gt4 at retail would be a basic car with sofa seats and 15k plus or you would need to be lucky.

Your right in what you say, all GT cars are dropping in price now. But they will
level out again when they find a new lower price point.

I would say a 981 gt4 is dropping around £500 to £600 per month and a 991.2 gt3 around £1000 to £1200 per month at present and maybe more on the 991.1 gt3.

That sort of loss is to be expected at these price points imo, free motoring is becoming a thing of the past again.

Imo I think there’s a price correct coming on the used 991.1 gt3 cars, they are really struggling to sell at 100k to 105k. These could be £85k cars by the end of the year, I enquired about a 991.1 gt3 before I got the gt4 opportunity. It’s was a very nice car but according to the experts at the time had a trade value of 84k and the seller wanted £105k needless to say it was removed from sale, it was also financed up very close to its trade value. This is the part which may catch some owners out when they try to get out as then end up with little or no equity in the car. It’s at that point you need to decide to I keep the car, enjoy it and carrying on with the monthly payments or jump ship and try and wipe the slate clean.

When and from where exactly did you dream these figures up?

To be expected with the value of the car, no dreaming required.

Interesting article that.

Private mid 60's for a GT4 is very achievable i think and where would a dealer bod be , late 50's tops 60 maybe?

I hear there isn't such a tight allocation on the 718 GT4 either so this could have a bearing too.

No matter, at early 60's the GT4 is a cracking buy but as it states 'currently the world is your oyster'

The only reason I disagree with £60k GT4's...

Sellers simply don't sell at this price.

There are always going to be the rare occurrences, but it's exactly the same with housing market for nice places... sellers don't sell, so regardless if the car is actually right at £60k, sellers won't sell at this. Especially if the car is £80k list as they paid - 25% depreciation in 3 years for GT product is a little optimistic.

I think the bigger issue is why and how some people bought them in the first place.

Agree, sellers will only give these cars away if they are under pressure to sell or if the car has some hidden secrets. Once the new Gt4 delivers land it should prop up gt4 prices due to the gap in price.

Even at £69.999 for a nice CS spec gt4 with sensible miles is good value compared to other GT asking prices, if the GT4 drops to 50k something you will see a big hit across the whole used GT range imo by the same % drop.

I’m all for it as I could sell two of my two classics and buy pretty much buy a nice 997.2 gt3 if it does, I’m not banking on it yet mind 🤣

The big difference is that houses typically go up in value if you decide not to sell and sit on them. Most cars do the opposite........
