Auctions cars always have a story, makes me wonder who dares buy them anyway.
Not all auction cars are bad but all bad cars end up at auctionbeer

Most of the ex Porsche finance cars in BCA Nottingham are proper cars.

Bought quite a few over the years.

I put my Sapphire blue, 918 seats, leather dash, PPF, 12K miles decent spec GT4 for sale on here 2 months ago. It was up for £70K for 4 weeks. I had virtually no serious enquires which really surprised me as it was the best priced car on the market.

I had a few low trade bids until an OPC eventually took it off my hands at £68K. Then they put it up for £77.5K and it sold within a month. Hope this helps someone in regards to what they are currently worth.

Reading this thread about the auction car and the speculation about it has reminded me about the GT4 I originally looked at buying. There was a silver clubsport for sale at GC motors. Reg started GT04. It was priced well under the competition and looked a really nice car. I think it had 11K miles and was £73K. This was 18 months ago. GC Motors don't seem to have the best reputation and there were a couple of threads on here stating something was up with the car. Can't remember what it was (possibly over revs) but the consensus was to give it a miss. I enquired anyway and asked if I could have the car inspected at the OPC local to them. They said no as they have fallen out with said OPC because they take too much business away from them. This didn't wash with me so I walked.

I also tried to use the price of the GC car as leverage when negotiating on a different silver GT4 at an OPC only to be told by the salesman simply to 'be wary' about that one. Maybe he'd been reading the thread or knew something I didn't. The car stuck around for ages despite it being the best priced car for sale at the time.

The same car reappeared for sale at an OPC a couple of months ago and sold quickly. Make of this what you will. Maybe internet stories put many people off a perfectly good car. Or maybe some OPC's aren't that fussy about what they buy!

As regards to the auction car I know nothing about it but I do always wonder why people put cars like this through auctions. If it's something rare and exotic then it makes sense as a bidding war could be great for the seller. But for something like a white comfort GT4 it makes no sense to me. If I'm right that £57K was returned to the seller they would definitely have got a bid better than that from the trade, assuming it was a straight car. I hope it's a great car and someone got a good deal. Will be interesting to see if it pops up for sale at a dealer.
I was thinking of looking at this Cayman GTS at GC but maybe there's a reason it's cheap.

Looks OK to me, but add £1k for new rubber as those look like the OEM hard P Zeros that will have you in a hedge!!

If they are cracked you might still get goodwill from Pirelli and either new tyres or some cash for new ones - it's free to ask!

OPCs Exeter Chester and Nottingham all have cheaper ones.
No real reason to buy at GC

I'd me minded to have an independent inspection, as although they will have some good cars, the R8 track damaged with a 'filled roof' was the stuff of legends on here, sadly not for the buyer. That said it was a few years back if I remember correctly.

Thats a brilliant old chestnut line about Leeds OPC falling out with a notorious Harrogate indie because they take too much business away from the OPC.

I am sure JCT as one of the most successful and profitable OPCs in the UK are quaking in their boots at the huge volumes of business they lose. scratchchin

That silver GC one had been in a gravel trap. Just wanted a bit of paint it was otherwise very good.

I'm looking for a 981GT4, less than 10k miles, with buckets, FPSH, and no over revs in 3-6. If anyone is selling especially as they take delivery of their shinny 718s.

PM me.
