Think we should snap shot this poll, revisit I a year or two and see which group of people have the highest incidence of going against their word. My money is on those who say they have an NA one and won't consider a 718.

I wish! An acquaintance with an E-type had a random young woman get into his car when he was parked saying "you seem like a nice man". Never happened to me...

Lol! Annoyingly, the only time I've ever got female attention in a car was in a Lotus Elise - had it as a loaner when my 355 was damaged, 20 mins out in it for the first time I was going up Putney High Street and a very attractive early 30s blonde lady crossed the road in front of me, stopped in the middle and said "I loooove your car!", gave me a big smile and walked off! Only ever managed to attract blokes with Fezzas and Porsches irked .... hehe

I've had several 6 cylinder Porsches. I certainly wouldn't consider a 4 cylinder Cayster. Think this will only help the 6 cylinder cars value in the longer term. Electric steering is another big negative for me

Definitely turned me off the prospect of getting a new Cayman. Just don't see the appeal in a 4 pot Cayman sadly...

Had a tweet earlier from 'Porsche Retail Group'. I think the delegates need to go back to the classroom...

Me too. I'm so bored with internet twaddle-mongery about a car no-one has driven.

Not a question of twaddle mongery.

I shall drive it.

I will be objective.

I am sure it will be a quick/nice/fast car.

BUT

I won't buy it because in my mind the Porsche I aspired to and worked hard to afford has 6 cylinders.

As a consequence I shall 'move on' or, remain with my current vehicle.

Weird?

Pedantic?

Perhaps but we are all different and entitled to an opinion which can be aired on a Forum such as this. smile

Exactly, I would love a V8/V12 Aston or Ferrari if I could afford it, but I can say with certainty that I wouldn't want either with a 4 cylinder engine. This poll may be very subjective and speculative, but I don't think it's pointless.

Obviously quite a lot of people are anti the flat 4 turbo, but I'm not sure what they can move on to with 6 NA cylinders. Unless they decide to drive "old" models forever they are likely going to be stuck with turbos. Given that the 718 may still prove the best car in its class AT THE PRICE, I suspect many, whatever their current stance, will accept (albeit with some regret) the inevitable. Porsche owners choose their cars for a variety of reasons and it depends on whether engine or handling is your priority - but I doubt, in the final analysis, that many will choose a dynamically inferior car just to spite Porsche.

Some will go 911 (turbo of course), Ive no doubt - but Porsche will love that.

What is pointless, is commenting on an online poll, that you think is pointless.

Or am I missing something?
