Hi All,
I have considered buying a Cayman R in the past but never quite bitten the bullet. My boss is looking to bid on the below car on Collecting Cars, Any thoughts on it? I know you regulars know these cars well and would be the best people to ask.

Can’t help much, strange it is showing a missed service in 2019, may just have missed it in the advert but I would be checking.

Most recent bid is Ashgood. That means you're bidding against them. I suspect they've got deep pockets. Doesn't mean you can't win but probably means you won't get a bargain.
Another bidder in the list is 911Goat whom 'has assembled one of the best ensembles of Porsche in the UK' https://www.buzzsprout.com/883537/3214912-building...

so there are some deep pockets there too probably.

Thanks guys, looked like it had the ‘right spec’ from my knowledge. I guess the seller could reduce the reserve, I know CC like to put the pressure on that way.

He could yep, though unless circumstances dictate but they'd be silly to let it go less than £45k.

If this is correct, it shows what a good company Ashgood are ... I seem to recall their selling prices are often very fair.

On the other hand, if one was to outbid a dealer, would that be so unfair for either the buyer or the seller ?

Hi
No such thing as a bargain CR or in fact any good Porsche a fair price yes but if it's a bargain otherwise inexpensive there's a reason why in my opinion.
A dealer will have a max budget to leave a profit in a car it's a buiness so they can be outbid
As said not a bad thing for a buyer or seller.
I see a good CR fetching more than the current bid price. I
Happy bidding.

The high mileage Blue one needed 2 or 3 thousand spending on it right? You never know what's lurking underneath these cars. A private buyer may be willing to pay more than a Dealer. It all depends what they know and if they really really want it for stock.

Is sports exhaust an option - I didn't see it mentioned?
The button for it is there.
Thanks

that the owner has poor taste in stickers. Those 3D gel type ring stickers are horrid.

No one else bothered by the 4 year service gap then? That and PDK make this £40k at best for me.

Owners here always talk up prices. While would be owners think they are too high.

It's pretty much the perfect car (unless you need a manual version). I would buy it in a flash if I had the requisite funds. Made the worst decision of my automotive life selling my gen 2 987.2 CS, which was pretty much the same spec but without the sports exhaust. If it had had the sports exhaust I might not have sold it! biglaugh

True. I know not always a great barometer for a specialist 11 year old performance car but the disparity between WBAC offers and asking prices is huge at the moment.

Then of course there is one particular owner who values them even higher than everyone else on here.

Mentioned it earlier, don't get why you would miss a service, was wondering if it is there but they have made a mistake on the advert.
Unlikely, but strange to have the car for all that years and miss a service by 2 years.

Obviously no concern to Ashgood if that is them bidding on it.
