Fairly priced…Really?
The black on on CC last week had lower miles and it took two goes at selling at £43.
Obvs the dealer took a detour through “strawberry fields” before arriving at the £58k price.
But comparing it to the ruby one at cridfords - that was £39k, the manual black one in Cardiff is £10k cheaper..
Whilst the colour is nice, it doesn’t have PSE or cruise.
In my mind £48 is OPC money and you’re not getting an OPC experience.
Is cruise a sought after option on an R? not judging, just curious. The black on on CC last week had lower miles and it took two goes at selling at £43.

It is on the pricey side, i hear you,,,,, but if one is really wanting blue and PDK then it could be ages before another comes up. I can't be sure but i think there are only about 5 blue ones in the country. For starters only one blue R was at the anniversary meet...who knows it might be that one.

I just think if you’re asking OPC money then my expectation is the car is well optioned, has unquestionable up to date service.
Cruise seems to be a curious option. Firstly I don’t k ow why it isn’t standard, even in the current models you have to add it which is just insane on 100k cars. As for whether it’s needed on an R - I get that the purpose of an R is to B road and track it, but you have to get to a B road or track.
My Spyder has it my RS doesn’t - taking the RS to Scotland is a pain in the ass, I want to get up there ASAP so I’ve got to use the motorway. Being sat on the motorway for 3 or 4 hours without cruise is just uncomfortable.
Maybe I’m just getting old…

What is this OPC experience that you speak of?The black on on CC last week had lower miles and it took two goes at selling at £43.

Do you mean getting looked down on by a jumped up salesman who is used to thinking he is doing customers a favour by selling them a car, a cup of coffee and a pretty bird on reception, oh and a two year warranty that can be put on any car subject to a 111 point look over by the trainee mechanic.
I really don't get this willingness to pay top dollar from an OPC but the same car privately is somehow worth 10k less.
Buy the car not the stealer.

I guess peoples experiences and expectations are different. I get on quite well with my OPC.Do you mean getting looked down on by a jumped up salesman who is used to thinking he is doing customers a favour by selling them a car, a cup of coffee and a pretty bird on reception, oh and a two year warranty that can be put on any car subject to a 111 point look over by the trainee mechanic.

If that car doesn’t have N rated tyres and a crap Porsche battery then you’re into £1500 before you spend £2500 on getting a warranty. So there’s £4K off the price.
Some people will want finance or need to PX - all of this comes at a cost, which needs to be reflected in the price.
If you’re also buying new cars from an OPC then any sales go to goodwill with the dealer. Discounts on parts and servicing…
None of which you get with a private sale. It was always expected that a private sale was cheaper than a dealer sale. Isn’t that why you had 3 prices in the blue book - Trade / private / retail.

Seems they were in Dundee by the looks of it and miles from anywhere so went with the nearest local option. Convenient at the time but probably hampered their sale price to Ashgoods (if thats how they came to get it).
I can't see it reaching more than £35K.
I think that's pushing it tbh. It has got a lot of nasties on it. All probably fixable but take time and money. Also looks like front PU has either been replaced or repainted if you look at the front splitters underside condition compared to rest of PU. It looks new to me with the old splitters fitted to it. To be fair the photo's seem to give a very honest portrayal though, my guess would be circa £30k and unsold.I can't see it reaching more than £35K.

I'am with you 100% on this, I bought my Cayman S private and have been very happy with it, I wasn't just going to buy the car I wanted to see and speak to the owner to get a feel of how the car has been looked after, to me this was very important...you do not get this from an OPC all they are there to do is sell you a car and will generally say anything to do so, they buy cars for stock give them a quick polish and a set of tyres and its up for sale, the poor punter that walks in has zero idea where that car came from or how its been looked after.julian987R said:

Oh that one! I always felt the quality of pics in its original advert did it zero favours. Maybe why the pics were from so far away, one I recall was from a street away! It is inching towards £30K on CC

£37K thereabouts. But could be a very special S. Shame the pics aren't that detailed.
If you are bringing the car out of Ireland you can reclaim some of the original 'vehicle registration tax' paid. There is an online calculator but anything semi 'exotic' is not listed so the calculations are a bit of a lottery. I'd estimate the Irish tax man would give you between €5 or 6K back once it is registered in the UK. DavP said:
