Costco for tyres. They regularly do a £100 off when you buy 4 offer, and their price when not on offer is usually less than dealers. They don't have the Cayman R sizes in 4S listed on their site (if you call them or go in you'll get a price), but last time I got a quote for 4S when the offer was on, the price started with a 6.

When I bought my 4S's they started with a 6 too and cheapest nationwide was Asda Tyres, However my local tyre shop price matched them,

The car God giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other.

Cayman is over at RPM for some fettling. The PSE has a stuck valve and prior owner was told by a very reputable specialist that it was not fixable. No problem say RPM, we can fix it.

On the other hand, an A/C pipe is leaking and RPM think they need to drop the engine to be able to fit it. They are off to see if there are any other options.

cry

PS Thank you for all the comments on tyres - very interesting. I thought mine may not make it though the MOT, but apparently no problem!

Oh dear sorry to hear did you get a pre purchase check done?
Hope it's not to expensive to get sorted.

i read costco tyres are all old - any truth to that? have you checked the year marker on your side wall to see if it was a current year tyre?

All but the A/C issue was known about before purchase and reflected in the price I paid.

I understood the A/C had just been serviced and regassed - doh!

Does anyone have a Top Gear Sport 200 cell headers with PSE? I have a PSE with standard headers and I am keen to understand if I add the TG headers if this is a big step up in db levels and if it will still be track friendly in the UK?

Any videos of a TG 200 cell with PSE would be much appreciated.

None whatsoever. The Cayman size are ordered (not stock sizes) and come direct from Michelin. My PSS were dated about 6 weeks before they were fitted. The winters on my Mondeo were dated within under 3 months of fitted date, and they are a stock size. Indeed the only time I've received tyres which were any significant age was from a popular tyre website who gave me a couple which were 2 years old on one occasion.

It should defo be fine. I have the M&M mani with 200 cell hjs and tuv street exhaust system and it’s much sweeter sounding but by no means loud.

Had a Spyder with pse before and it’s not loud at all just tuneful. I would suggest better cats to avoid buying twice. HJS are the way to go on any car.

i still see it listed - this one you mean?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301253...

whilst looking I noticed the blue one is still for sale

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202208239...

I sweat that has been unsold now for close to a year - makes me wonder how dealers can survive by just sitting on cars - and if it falls within the period it is due a service do they think to do that?

Agreed. I've never I understood this. I've been watching Cayman R and Evora markets and there's been quite a few cars sitting around for 6 - 12 months..Either they've got plenty in the bank or the cars are SOR customer cars? In the current climate I'm surprised we've not seen a few more cars reduced..

An expert I'm not but if they are hanging out for the Spring thinking the market will see the traditional jump then that's one thing but surely the car is then a year older and due a service + there's always a chance that the market may not bounce as much as usual..Surely it would have been better to sell it last summer in this basis and if you didn't it's because the price was too high..., ( and therefore still is )?

Either that or they believe its just a matter of time and a new buyer will materialise and take it away without too much haggling, ( fair enough if you're cash flow is all OK.. )?

I thought the Top Gear manifolds were seen as good quality based on historical comments in this thread? They are certainly cheaper that the overpriced fabspeed sports headers.

I don't know HJS, are they available in the UK?
