Really looking forward to getting it once Tom has sorted the new head unit install for me. The car ticks all my boxes and the spec works for me, R's with manual box and arguably the essential options are rare cars in the UK so I acted quickly to secure this car.

What did you buy in the end and what swung your decision?

Is the previous owner (6 years) on pistonheads by any chance?
If it's the white Cayman R that 911 V have had in for a couple of months I can probably put you in touch with the previous owner. He's a friend of a mate of mine that lives in Sandbach. My pal was offered the car but already has a considerable fleet, f430 man, Carrera 4 993, 106 rallye and is rebuilding his caterham academy car so the timing wasn't ideal. Think he's wishing he'd bought it. Me and Adam Melvster who brings his cars to you did the NC500 withnthe fez owner, Al,in the summer and we were only discussing your purchase on Friday. I'd like one at some point. Will be bringing my 911 to,you for Geo after OPC cocked it up come spring and new tyre. Let me know.

Yes it’s the white R that 911V has since mid December. RO61 SVE
It’s always nice to touch base with the previous owner when you buy a car so would appreciate if you could help with that. PM me his details or pass my details on to him if you would.
Know Adam well, it’s a small World us pistonheaders live in! Have replaced my GT4 with the R and a ‘family friendly’ E92 M3 coupe Competition pack!
Let me know when you want the 911 looking at, always happy to work on local enthusiasts cars.
Cheers, Chris

I'll try and get it sorted. I was the chap that put Mark Beeson on to your gts parts. He's fitting the springs this weekend. He also did the nc 500 with us.
Also pals with Ian whose turbo s you set up.

Coolant leak from NS return engine hose.

Common and disappointing issue on all Porsche! Will be replacing all of mine with quality stainless steel versions once I get the car, hopefully next week....

So my R is being delivered tomorrow from 911V and I have to say I’m really looking forward to getting to know it.
Lack of Nav/phone/DAB/Bluetooth/iPod connection has been rectified with a Kenwood DNX-5170DABS head unit which includes the exceptional (compared with Porsche PCM) Garmin fully updatable sat-nav and Apple car play. This gives me the only features that this car’s spec was missing for me. Car is great spec (has the essentials in my opinion - buckets, manual, PSE, short shift, Spyders, Sports chrono, air-con, Alcantara package), just 2 owners, low mileage, fantastic condition & history - even with annual oil changes between the OPC services!
I’ve even lined up a nice treat for it once the V5 is in my name with an R related private plate.
Some pics....

Nice one Chris, look forward to your thoughts. smile And I see that your GT4 has now been sold by Chester....I believe the new owner managed to get a little off the price they were asking for it.

Chester were being greedy on the price, should have been advertised at £92,500 which I think was probably closer to the selling price. Do you know the new owner? A great car.....

Don't know him personally but I he popped onto the PCGB forum to say how pleased he is with his new toy and already has a few track outings planned for it.

Decided to keep mine atm got a brake kit coming to combat the cars weakpoint, and a upsize in disk size should help with heat issues, looking forward to the results.

Spent 8 hours cleaning it now the last few weeks and it was too good to sell lol.
Unlike my GT4 the R is now not an easy car to buy/replace. I made the mistake once before I need to be sure this time and I will not know for sure till I have ran the GT3 for a bit.

We need to get an R meet sorted in Spring.

Still think it’s the best road fun drivers car available.

Bose does sound great imo a massive step up with a tweak, the GT4 was not good in the sound dept, but we don't buy these cars for ICE do we,

I would miss BOSE though I use my R a lot and it does sound great, Bass dropped -2 and treble up + 3 and it's a nice sound. (most cars have loudness on and boom or base up too much then people say BOSE sounds crap !! ) It's night and day better over Sound pack plus for sure.

I have again speced it in my GT3 as imo I think it's worth it , there were no options on the GT4.

Bose in the 987 Caymans can be greatly improved by stuffing the sub enclosure with cheap pillow wadding.
