I'm toying with the idea of a 987R (having owned two 987S cars 10 or so years ago), but curious what people think of the Ashgood car that's up for sale. I'd be tracking the car a bit so it has some appeal to me, but doesn't seem to be shifting?
I think, ultimately, I'm drawn more toward a 987 Spyder, but this R has caught my eye...though I have a V8V Cab to sell first.
Only thing with the Spyder over the R for tracking is the annoyance of wearing a full face crash helmet and not being able to have a safe option for harnesses.I think, ultimately, I'm drawn more toward a 987 Spyder, but this R has caught my eye...though I have a V8V Cab to sell first.
To my mind a Spyder makes a better road car and an R a better track.
For anyone in the market for a well specced LHD one:

Nice white CR about to go on the market (when the weather is good enough for me to take a couple of pics and post to pistonheads classified).
Buckets, PDK (which I love on track) wheels just redone by Exel, new cup2 on front, backs are good, pagid RS pads, chrono, switchable exhaust etc
Bad things- stratospheric mileage of 62K, air con (guessing it’s there as there is a button) isn’t cold so either needs regas or new condensers. Otherwise, it’s a gorgeous car.

Could you drop me a message with details please. Can’t email as your setting are sent up to not receive.

Yep - ultimately that's why I'm not going to message Ashgood about the car. The search, half-heartedly, continues (probably for a Spyder).
If you're looking for Spyder, there is this:https://www.ashgood.co.uk/vehicle-details/Porsche-...

Yeah, sadly my budget is limited - so I've signed on the line for the white R at Flat Six Performance. Wrong seats, and PDK (I wanted PDK though), but a decent price for a nice looking car so hope it works out well. I may then change for a spyder perhaps next year. That particular spyder was up privately somewhere - so now several grand more and has lost its private plate (which they're also selling at Ashgood).
Been very quiet on here of late, and my first post in a while to report that I've been bitten by the infamous snapped gear cable whilst driving into work this week!
Stuck in 2nd gear and only 1/4 mile from work so managed to get there and parked up safely before calling the RAC.
Recovered to GT One on the back of a low-loader, ready to be relieved of more money!
The car is also booked in for it's 12 year major service, so it's going to be an expensive month
Other than that, the car has been driving really nicely and I've been getting up early for a proper Sunday hoon once a month or so, and also attending the odd meet.
We were blessed with a cold but sunny evening for the first Fairmile, Cobham meet of the year last week, with over 150 cars showing up over the evening.

I need to look at booking my service soon too Ian. Have they given you a list of what the 12 year service consist of? I'll do what i normally do and do most of it myself and get the stamp in the book for the oil change lolStuck in 2nd gear and only 1/4 mile from work so managed to get there and parked up safely before calling the RAC.

Nice one up at Harbour, especially if you’re after something for track use…

Hi Frayz, 12 yr is as follows:Spark Plugs
Drive Belt
Oil Filter
Particle Filter
Air Cleaner Cartridge
Manual Gearbox Oil change
All for a princely sum of £936 + VAT
About 6.25 hrs labour and the rest parts
Would be interested to know what spark plugs you would use, and estimated cost, as they are quoting £18.48 each which seems excessive.
Cheers, I
