Dear God that's nice, wish I had the budget for something like that. I've been looking at the classifieds a lot recently as I am after a 996 but still look at the more exotic bits as well.
I haven't seen anything as rare/special or as exciting as this for anything near the money being asked for this one off car.
I'm buying a lottery ticket for Friday.

Just a friendly joke - the Cayman R launch colour was peridot metallic (green), and was exclusive to the Cayman R and probably the colour most synonymous with the R. Viper was available on the Cayman S Sport, like this one.
So there are other 987s out there in viper, but mostly Cayman S, where as I doubt you'll find a peridot 987 that isn't an R.
Edit to add - I believe 6 viper S Sports... so if you see a viper 987, it's probably an S. And the Porsche GB S Sport press car had an aero kit (like the R), lsd (like the R) and pretty much looked and was spec'd, like an R.
The S press car was made before any of the R models, so if anything they were copying it So there are other 987s out there in viper, but mostly Cayman S, where as I doubt you'll find a peridot 987 that isn't an R.

Anyway, I bought it when it came up for sale last year. I've seen a couple of .1 S models in the same colour, but not another .2, although they may well exist.
Hate to say it but I don't think Pistonheads made a good job of the photos, seems like they were taken in bright sunlight, makes it look washed out. I think solid colours like that always photograph better out of the sun.
A couple of quick phone snaps on the drive when I first got it. I was out with Niall (8bit on here) last week to have some proper photos done. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Now this is a unicorn spec car! There are probably nearly as many "R" parts on that as some actual Rs (like those with Turbo wheels and chairs, for example). Niall lives about 2 minutes from me and has taken pics of my friends 911 and my Cayman. Really good guy. Are you in the Aberdeen area as well?

Just wanted to share a brake set up that worked really well for me on track this week. Edited to add part numbers and prices:
• Endless ME20 pads (EIP175 CC40 front, EIP211 CC40 rear - £290 plus taxes from RHD Japan)
• Castrol SRF fluid (1L, £55 from Amazon)
• GT3 master cylinder (TRW PMN166 - £75 from WS Autoteile)
• GT3 front brake ducts - (99734148392 left / 99734148492 right - £6 from local OPC)
Everything else standard. Completely solid pedal all evening running 56 second laps at Brands Hatch Indy.
It's worth noting that the brakes need to be bled properly after install. I bled them myself first, then subsequently got 2 different garages to bleed them as they weren't quite right. GT One in Chertsey did a great job in the end. Ask your garage to flush using standard fluid first, including cycling the ABS pumps, then replace with SRF.
Enjoying the new set up here

Yes, I'm in Aberdeen too. I've known Niall for a while now and he's done a few cars of mine. Nice guy and great with a camera.
He sure is. Look forward to seeing the pics and maybe see the car going around some time PaulD86 said:

It is a 987.2 2.9 cayman, only 1 I've ever seen. There was also a 981 gts boxster in peridot about a year ago for sale. Really fancied that but it was top money.

White Rs always look superb, especially on track. Great pic. • Endless ME20 pads (EIP175 CC40 front, EIP211 CC40 rear - £290 from RHD Japan)

I just spotted this Peridot Cayman R for sale at JZM. Well, to be more accurate it is showing as reserved. It must have been reserved extremely quickly which is not surprising as it looks like a superb example with low miles, manual and a nice spec.
https://jzmporsche.com/cars/porsche-987-p0539/
Does anyone happen to know how much they advertised it for?

It was £52995 and went before the photos went up, which incidentally look great but the saturation has been turned right up because peridot isn't that bright in real life. I also see that the Viper green one has been reduced to £57995, which as a one off PTS car seems pretty good if the JZM car is worth £53k.https://jzmporsche.com/cars/porsche-987-p0539/

Let's just hope the new owner uses it. (if you are lurking on here - congrats and welcome to the R appreciation society!)
