Had the Girodisc's on my race Boxster all last year. You can notice the difference but it's not that vast. They will not affect the pedal travel even when hot. They will give you slightly better braking power but it really depends on what tyres you are using as well, I wouldn't say more 'Bite' to get that you really need to instal a GT3 MC on a Cayman R shoottankredcard

I got them direct from the USA and Fabspeed, the disks were so much cheaper even with all the duty and post, so I added tips at the last minute, I was going to just get mine replated for about £150 but the black chrome goes well with the Cayman R looks and I thought sod it lets have new ones.

I did a full brake change on mine last weekend.

Quite an enjoyable job on the Cayman. Was nice to be able to give everything a proper clean up too!

Have also just ordered some new tyres. Went for the new Michelin PS4 S in the end. Even had black circles emailing me saying they are not N rated and therefore not recommended!

My M3 runs Cup 2s, as will my R when I find one... Though MPS4S may be an everyday choice, saving the Cup 2s for the track. driving

How have you found them so far chap?

Heard nothing but good things about them from what I've seen so far.

I did look at the Cup 2s. Can get a VERY good price on them. And considered them purely for the fact they are awesome and could then get the dealer to fit them for me..

But in the end I decided that because I don't track the car, the better damp/wet weather performance of the PS4S was a better choice, even if I did have to find somewhere trustworthy to fit them for me.

Trying a place near me called RSJ Tyres and Autostyling. Car goes in this morning. Praying for no scratches on the wheels.

I normally point my mate with his 911 to Camskill and the like to source tyres, he then takes it to OPC Leeds who fit them for less than £20 per wheel inc VAT... Knows they'll do a good job and will obviously check a few other things. I'll be using them for servicing too when the time comes.

Still winds me up that his 7.2 C2S costs less to maintain than my E45 M3... irked

a lot firmer than the Good years so the ride is a tad more bumpy, I have lowered the PSI a tad to over come that

but as a tyre they are amazing, in the wet it's like driving in the dry !

they do take 500 miles to wear in.

I now run them on 2 cars and would have no other tyre,

That's a very rare model inded that E45 M3 you've got , it's little wonder the maintenance costs are so high on it !! smile

Under £20 per wheel at an OPC is a good price. My local quoted me £90 all in for all four. But they won't fit anything other than N rated tyres!

I was charged £127 to fit mine at the OPC and it took an arm twist as not N spec.

Good point about the N spec. My bad. He's still got PZeros on which I keep reminding him are crap compared with MPS4S!

E45, it's a lighter version... wink

With that spec + Manual with PSE, I'd have been knocking on your door! frown
