One thing which really bugs me about the black wheels, is that the inner faces are STILL silver!!! Looks unfinished to me.

Which is why I had mine done when it arrived at the dealer, rather than at the factory :-)

R Manual taxed 101 and 6 SORN
R PDK taxed 109 and 6 SORN

Shame there is no way to provide figures for the rarity of a manual R with the more desirable spec of buckets, PSE, Chrono, Short-shift, Air/con, Spyder wheels.....

How many are we estimating at.....???
no more than 40 imo, too many had turbo wheels or comfort seats. Add in the PSE, SS, SC on top of Wheels and buckets, 40 has to be max.
Mine falls into this category .

Would you guys say a 981 GTS is as appealing as a 987 R in terms of desirability and driving enjoyment or is the R a bit more special.
Did a trackday in a 981 GTS. Drove home in my R. Even in an environment where I could pushy the GTS as hard as I wanted I found it less fun than my R on the drive home. Although to be fair I did come home over the A93 which is a bit mega as roads go.

Strong money for a private sale but try finding another with similar spec and mileage - they don’t exist!

I see this car selling very quickly based purely on lack of R’s for sale
Indeed, seller has just emailed to say it's sold - I was about to reply to him as a bit of sleuthing via the nice chaps at Edinburgh OPC reveals it's not a factory fit PSE (possible retrofit), not what I'm after.

The search continues...

It's bloody annoying - I seem to remember these touching £35k a few years ago, before everything went banzai from Classic to RS.

30k miles is my upper limit, and must have PSE, Buckets, Spyders, Manual. Other options are a plus.

I reckon there must be 25-40 in that range, just patience required.

35k would have been a bargain! Wish I'd have got mine for that biggrin

Wow - that was quicker than even I thought it would take!!!

With an estimated 25-40 cars ticking your essentials I don’t envy your search. So happy with mine and glad I acted when I did and bought one of the 25-40!

Best of luck finding one

Nothing ever went to 35k bar crazy high miles or a private sale with no AC in yellow once.

I paid £45k for my green one 5 years back and paid £45k for my white one 2 year back, so no £35k cars !

like every thing there is a spread, I thought the10k mile car was good value hence it sold fast as most are used cars you don't find low mileage cars any more :-( or :-) for the owners driving and enjoying them.

the 10k mile R was rare as rocking horse st imo some ones got 3 years free motoring with those low miles adding another 20k will make no odds.

Obviously the price was not to strong after all considering how quick it went .
Just shows low mileage right spec in a lot of people's eyes are willing to pay for it..
You just can't dither if a car comes up with ones desired spec give or take being a little flexible.
As I always have said what else in the Porsche range can you get that's as good as low mileage good spec R or Spyder circa 50k
Sure a few higher mileage lesser spec cars will go a little less for now anyways.
GT4 or 981 Spyder are great cars no doubt but you will have to find another 35/40k
Which is probably out of a lot of people's reach or they don't want to spend that much.
Just proves good cars always sell in some cases fast.

Saw that David - whilst ultra low mileage and all the spec it will be interesting to see how long a £60k 987 Spyder takes to sell....

Now back on topic and finding Jim his Cayman R

Indeed - I also had a check done on it after noticing the black tips - Felt put off as strong money to pay private when I couldn't be sure of the full provenance.

Mine still has sub-10k miles, only just. And yes I enjoy driving it, but I only drive it to drive it - track days, drive outs and the rare occasions where my wife and i get to go out without the children.

Whether I’ll ever let it go, though is anothet matter, especially since I’m about to spend a fortune on new discs and pads :-)

We could have done it one weekend in a couple of hours! ;-)
