PSE sounds great, proper honest sounding exhaust system keep the flaps unlocked from the engine bay and off you go.
You forget I test drove that Silver cayman R back in 2011 David, that car had the armchair seats and PSE. If you look back at the comments I made after I'd driven the car, you'll see why I don't think it brings anything to the Cayman R party.

Is it lighter ? Does it enhance the engine performance or make the car quicker ?
Nope, thought not. So in reality it rather falls under your category of "pointless bling" David...

PSE flaps open all the time you get a nice noise, look how many people buy sharkwerks pipes.
And look how many people visit Gert to have the exhaust mods done.

noise sells cars esp an honest noise. Other wise we might as well look forward to having no gears, massive torque electric cars :-)

I think the R PSE is also hard to get, ie a dealer will not get you one, so it is what it is and seems a must have by 80% buyers.

Gert can supply a brand new already modified Cayman R exhaust...for owners without PSE its mod that’s definitely worth the money.

As others have said Jim, you've been looking/prevaricating for some time now. The Summer solstice is but days away, then the nights will once again start to draw in, and before you know it, it'll be the late Summer bank holiday and Autumn will be knocking on the door...
You're a long time dead ....
Hi Slippy, that last line is one I quote fairly regularly as my mate is contemplating selling his stunning 7.2 C2S - sadly PDK otherwise I'd have took it off his hands - for a GT4/GT3.

I will pull the trigger when the right car comes along, infact I've already made an offer on 2 private cars, one unwarrantable, the other, more than I'm prepared to pay. Many on here won't think twice about spending the thick end of £50k, but as it'll be the most I've ever spent on anything, I'm a little more apprehensive and consequently reluctant to pay (what I perceive to be) over the odds.

If the Knowl Hill car had aircon, a deposit would've already been paid.

I'm in no rush, though frustrating over the last few months, this last week (3 manuals appeared for sale) has taught me prudence is in order. One day, I'll be grinning stupidly. But not yet...

This looks new to market and reasonably priced. Missing a few nice options but has buckets and manual

Personally think that would be a nice car to actually enjoy, for a decent price. I'd just want to make sure it had Full Porsche Service History.

Yep and replace the rather sad looking OMP harnesses with some from Schroth which are more in keeping with Porsche equipment...preferably in red. smile

Been thinking of putting red Scroth harnesses in mine - I'd really like to be held firmer in the bucket on track. GT One posted a photo of them fitting some to a car recently, which got me thinking about it seriously again.

Oh, God! That would mean mine would have harnesses, Cup 2 tyres, Pagid RS29 brakes and no air conditioning, making it worth less than nothing!

Oh well, I guess I could just plant it in a pit wall sometime to save me having to pay someone to take it off my hands hehe

Porsche service history wouldn't bother me - I'm far more confident in Ray at Northway and Peter at GT One than I've ever been in an OPC service manager.

Although I am lucky enough to have a few really good independent Porsche specialists just a short drive away.

Got brand new red Schroths in may garage that were for the Impreza. My only issue is cutting trim to fit a harness bar. If there was a way to install harnesses without cutting any trim id be up for it.

The thing to remember about harnesses is that while they are great driving aid they are primarily a safety device. And to keep you safe you should really be using a HANS device with them because if you don't, there is a significant risk of snapping your neck in a heavy impact. Just watch some videos as to what happens when wearing a helmet and harness only in an impact. I'm guilty of having harnesses in the past for the driving aid they give but if I ever fit them again I would also use a HANS device with them.

100%.

Good job its not a holy grail option that helps resale value.
Imagine how many cars would be ruined with a wiper as all the investment lemmings ticked the "wiper" box biggrin

Ah yes, I forgot my GT3 master cylinder, brake ducts, and Tikore titanium wheel bolts, so mine's worth even less than I thought!
