Personally i prefer the Spyder wheels in silver as it adds some contrast. However i also prefer the wheels all in black of the OEM design.
Although im not offended by the grey interior barrels if theyre kept mint, the strip around the rim looks too Fast & Furious for me and im yet to see a rim stripe that i think looks good, looks especially gash on the latest GT3 and RS cars too
Have to say, my favorite looking R so far was the white one on the OEM guards red spyder wheels. I think that looks absolutely sensational

If they are going to be black I do prefer the spyder wheels with the silver. For me the detail of the wheels gets lost anyway with the black wheels and being all black makes them look a tad anonymous.
I'm currently trying to decide if I get mine refurbed in silver. The black does match the mirrors, air intakes, badge and decals but whenever I see this original launch pic I can't help but think it looks fantastic.
I also think black wheels are getting a bit dated. They were a fashion for a number of years but I feel things are, or have, moved on a bit now and they actually date a lot of cars.

The majority of new Porsche sports cars have satin black wheels so not sure about that
Not sure what that's based on? There are plenty new Porsches in this part of the world and the majority definitely aren't on black rims. Porsche website shows GTS models on black wheels but most of the rest are shown by default on silver or grey. But as you mention, it's satin and not gloss where wheels are black (with a few exceptions).Have to agree. Silver or light coloured wheels for me only. (even though I do have black wheels on my other car - but that's how they came!)
Whilst I'm not offended by them, I'm just not a fan of the black wheels. They just don't stand out enough and get lost in the wheel arch. The spyder wheels are great looking sculptures and silver shows them off by far the best.
If they are going to be black, they need to be ALL black, like Riyad's were. Not with a silver inside rim that just looks wrong to me.

Paul, this is mine. They have a warmer almost very very light shadow chrome appearance rather than big glittery silver. Almost a warm pearl finish.
You can tell by the centre caps, which usually match the silver Porsche rims, but they're considerably lighter on yours. The silver Sport Design alloys I had on my 911 matched the centre caps perfectly, so the R Spyders must be a darker shade.

Who wouldn't treat their R to titanium wheel bolts?!?
Nothing wrong with the metalurgy on the OEMs but the OEM finishing is appaling. I have taken apart 20 year old Fords with better quality fasteners than what Porsche seem to use. Providing you use a suitable assembly lube such as FinishLine then the Ti ones are a lovely replacement and compliment the lightweight theme of the car perfectly in my opinion.

Are these a Porsche item? Mind me asking the cost? My bolts are starting to rust (again) and I would like to replace them at some point.
I wouldn't know I'm afraid. They came standard on the car from the factory. I was told by the dealer that some later model Rs had them over the previous bolts because of corrosion issues.I only realised there were two different types when I asked for the torque setting for mine.
160nm for the revised wheel bolts, compared to 130nm for the earlier ones. For those who are interested...
