Messaged the Ebay seller about the peridot damaged one. For reference I wouldn’t be completely opposed to a repaired vehicle with honesty and before, during and after pictures.

I asked if it was the same car as you guys mentioned and if other parts were used to complete the repair and the response was...

this is a unrecorded car, there was only the wing replaced, there was no other damage at all.

Such a shame as now I’m completely discounting it based on the fact I could see the a pillar damage so was just looking for a reference to that as well.

First day out in the little white car yesterday at Bedford GT.

1st observation is what a brilliant car out of the box, so confidence inspiring and also a huge weight off the shoulders not having the GT3 value monkey on my back.

The endless pads are amazing however they're not at all disc friendly so think these drilled items items will be going in the bin soon.

The car stopped all day but that longer pedal is disconcerting so glad thats being addresses.

Balance is spot on but it does push on a bit in some corners so need to address that but could be the Supersports.

Overall impressed but some work to do. However i didnt spin and the lad in this 996 gt3 in the pic did twice! It was beautiful though
Stunning looking car in the best colour smile

Cayman's not bad either tongue out

Wing and a windscreen he says in his new advert!

More like...

Wing
A Pilar
Roof lining
Door
Quarter
Suspension damage

What else is wrong with it if he can’t even write an honest description of the damage it suffered.

IMO It’s not worth close to what he’s asking considering the damage it’s suffered and can now see why the insurance company considered it a loss, makes more sense now you see the damage pictures.

Such a shame as it looked a nice car.

I would imagine if you look hard enough you can buy a honest straight car for 5 or 7 grand more.

I dread to think how many damaged repaired high end cars are out there which are trying to be sold as straight cars.
In response to the above comments I would ask GT4RS does he know for sure that there has been that much damage? And if so how do you know or is it supposition.?
I have made considerable research on this car. (PLEASE NOTE, I am in no way connected to the seller. I was looking for a Peridot a green R with this level of spec)
The car is being sold at a lower price now it's been repaired. Recently appearing on Pistonheads.
It probably represents a reasonable car , for me I could not get past the Cat N remaining on the vehicle.
However in the course of pursuing it I did get a background to it. Including seeing the insurance documentation and the reason why the policy holder did not have it repaired.
I am not so sure the pillar was damaged as you state. The car was vandalised as opposed to being in a crash.
The chap selling it is quite amenable to telling you all about it. Have you spoken to him?
He was very willing to share information. I have not seen the repaired car in the flesh however the photos show what appears to be a a well repaired vehicle (paint wise at least)
It has a superb spec. I am sure it would have made a good car for me, but as I say personally I could not get past the Cat N
That said for many others on here it would probably make no difference.

Personally I am no longer looking for an R as my Cayman S is up for sale because I have now got myself in a 911. 997.2 2S

Sounds like a ‘987 Spyder/CR avoidance thread’ is needed!

Chap got back to me again clearly stating that there were two cars and the one he’s got on eBay was not the Cat car that was listed before 🤪

So he had two peridot green Cayman r’s with the same spec or he’s a billy bull....

How extraordinary! There were two and the one for sale, mended, just happens to have done just 48 miles more than the one that had lots more damage than just a windscreen and wing. Now I am not at all suggesting this chap is talking sh*te. But he is.

Been following this thread for a while after being taken out a run in my neighbours CR - opened my eyes to how competent these cars are.

Anyway, I’ve seen this one, seems reasonably priced although I appreciate the 60k miles is a red flag to most in this thread!

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Anyone know the car, any opinions on the spec or mileage?
ColdoRS - others here will give better guidance about the possible pitfalls of buying a car with that mileage. The price looks pretty keen to me and the colour is great. Purists will criticise the combination of sports seats and PDK, but it depends on what you are after. Mine is much the same spec and I adore it. My first Cayman was bought from Ashgood in 2016, and I found them very easy to deal with. It had a couple of early glitches, and there was never any problem getting them sorted. So I would have no problem buying through Ashgood based on my experience to date.

must be worth more in parts now.

As a lot of the R parts are very expensive to buy.

Cant be making much if any profit on it now, thought it was 30k pre repair.
At 30k starting to look a reasonable buy taking damage into account?

Subject to a proper inspection that looks like one hell of a nice car at £30K..

Another thumbs up for Ashgood - I was tempted by a white Cayman R they had which had been upgraded with a roll cage, harnesses etc. It had a rear wiper though, which was just odd for a lightweight spec car.

I was in JZM yesterday and the salesman said someone had approached them to do a SOR or to buy a Peridot Cayman R off them.
Low owner...might have been 1 !!!
Low miles ...under 20.
Manual. Buckets. Wheels. Shifter. AirCon.

Anyone off here ?????
