Most expensive yet....

I just found a great car on Auto Trader.

Given that Dan's old peridot green one up at £50k still hasn't sold - despite being perfect spec. And the black one at Perth @ £50k with similarly nice spec still hasn't sold (or at £48k before it moved within the group), regardless of season, these are all way overpriced.

Brexit uncertainty? Price correction imminent?

Lots of unknowns, but with GT4s, Spyders, 997 GTS and even some GT3s approaching £50k, the choice isn't as clear cut as it once was...

Whilst the good Cayman Rs have, for the last 2 years, held around the high 40s with the odd exception (Viper), GT4s in that time have dropped from mid 90s to 70s, 7.1 GT3s had a similar drop and GTSs from 80s to 60s.

I still want a Cayman R (work issues holding me back unfortunately at the moment), but when the time comes, if asking prices are still ridiculous, I may look at the above options...

But these other cars are not in the 40-50k bracket, nowhere near.
Very little is selling at the moment with brexit uncertainty the main issue.
Find a 997 gts manual, gt4 with normal miles and good spec for anywhere near 50k and I and most on here will snap it up.
A cayman r same as 987 spyder are spec and mileage sensitive but with these things right are all 40-50k cars.
Gt4's are a good 20k more which puts them out of reach if your max budget is 50k.

Some very selective use of statistics there Jim! For example, while there are certainly a few GT4s available at the moment in the high 70s, the average price of the 17 x GT4s for sale at OPCs is over £80K. At current prices the Cayman R still represents excellent value IMO.

Thanks guys!

Another for good measure, needs a set of cup2s next and some gt3 lower arms to get a bit more out of the chassis.

Got the RSS series arms and Cup2s on mine. They were on it when i bought the car but i think the increase in camber/caster up front is probably one of the best mods you can do to a CR. Having driven a standard car the increase in front end bite is quite noticable.

Nice - Cup 2s are awesome. Had them on mine - made it even better and they don't squeal, so brilliant on track!

Kevin would probably let you have his pdk R but personally I would suggest the manual is more involving if a little slower.

Thanks Darren

I think PDK would suit, for a change, at least

I've tackled the manual/PDK dilemma by having one of each. Here's my 2 R's turning up at the PCGB RAC Club Drive-In last weekend.
