Hi all
Don’t think there is a “right” or “correct” answer here!!
When I was looking for my R , it had to be Peridot , with buckets and black wheels everything else was optional.
I just think the black wheels marry up with the black rear spoiler , mirror housings and door graphics , though I would agree that the wheel details get a little lost when viewed from a distance.

On another note, I just watched this on the new 718 GTS 4.0 and despite my temptation when this was announced having watched this it sounds pretty lame compared to my R and the 0-60 time is slower than a 3.4ltr R?
I don't think Kermit is going anywhere at the moment.
My OPC has mentioned that I might be in with a shot at a PTS 718 GT4/Spyder though later this year which could be tempting.

...........Personally I think the black only really suits the white cars.........
That's a bit strong......I think your Peridot will look better keeping them silver though mate.

Still looks lovely dude, if the GT4 slot does come up, best of luck whatever you choose to do.
Well I am hopefully getting my rims back this morning. They were beginning to corrode so I had them done before it got worse. They won't be the black they were when I took them off the car....
For me the move from black is partly as I think it dates the car. It was very of its time, but that was nearly a decade ago now. These days black wheels seem to be the stample of every Corsa in the land too - and I loathe those, which makes me less keen on black as well. Although wheel colour will always split opinion. I put a silver or black poll on my Instagram and after a hundred and odd people had posted their preference, the split was exactly 50/50.

At the risk of sounding negative I go for the original look. I much prefer the originality of the gloss black wheels with the silver inner side. If I ever had to have mine refurbed I'd have them done exactly the same. I think the CR has a unique identity and when you change wheel colours or remove the side stripes etc it steals that identity away.
Thinking about the unique R identity, these are original launch pics so I'd argue that the correct R colour is silver, not black. For me the move from black is partly as I think it dates the car. You are taking my quote out of context. The topic at that time was between Matt, satin or gloss black. There's nothing wrong with silver in the correct shade as it's still original. However if you're comparing black to Corsa's...... My Renault Trafic van has silver alloys ajondyh said:

Sorry in advance for a potentially daft question but did all CR's have the side-stripes and Cayman R name badge on the back? Any particular reason why they'd be missing, other than for personal preference...
Normally respay OPC front ends. But I don’t think it was a delete option.
So my wheels are back from their refurbishing and are no longer black. I never really liked the black as I always felt the black hid the design of the wheel. Also, unusually, I think the black make the rims look smaller. Anyway, the colour isn't one of the Porsche silvers, rahter a black base painted silver on top. The pics don't show it well but, next to Porsche OEM finish, the colour is much richer and deeper. It varies a fair bit in different light. All in all I think it has freshened up the car.
