The 2 low mileage (13800 and 12500) cars on Autotrader are not selling at 48 and 45 grand.
Niche too far for the current quiet market perhaps?
Both are not "ideal" spec for max money.
The 45k car has no opc warranty/no pse
The 48k car no nav/no alcantara
Or just plain too expensive possibly?

Like I said, you can get really good examples of 981 and hell even 718 for £5k less (or better) and that's splitting the market...and lots more interesting colors too. Some buyers are pretty shallow (probably me included)
I nearly made a move on that Ashgoods one before Xmas but couldn't justify it over my 987.1S at the end of the day. I'd probably just jump on a £20k gen 2 next and drive the arse off it. Those options aren't there 3 years ago.

The market is so soft hardly anything is selling. Dealers going bust etc. Its a tough place out there atm if you are trying to sell. Its was bad last year but it seems to of got even worse.
Well priced Porsches are definitely selling. The last three cars I was looking at (986 Boxster S, 987.2 Boxster 2.9, 997.2 Carrera 2) all had sold within about a week, each one had a deposit on them when I messaged. I was enquiring about them as they seemed well priced and they obviously were. Ashgoods blue 996 GT3 sat for ages at £60k. They moved it to £58k then back up to £59k. Them back down to £55k and Bingo it sold within a week..other dealers have similar cars for over £60k and wondering why they're not selling...Ahhh...
Dealers need to stop moaning about a slow market and find the right price for their stock!
Most stuff is at least 10% overpriced.

The white R at JZM is not really missing anything of importance spec wise, it has AC, buckets, spyders and a decent exhaust. Its a desirable colour, good condition, full service history (with a recent major plus belts done) etc etc. I don't believe you need much else to get the full R experience. Would you pay an extra £4-5k for SC? Possibly has a few too many owners and perceived 'high mileage' but let's be honest, it's hardly worn out.
Trouble is the R market was over-trading and I think its a £35k car.

Myself and my car loving mate had a ball on the Cannonball run doing tag team in the 987.1. We certainly didn't sit there thinking of about lack of bucket seats, a few horsepower at the top end and aluminium doors. We were surrounded by about 100 young lads in £5k BMW, Lexus, Subaru's that they'd modded and were driving to the max...drifting and all sorts. It was refreshing to see you don't need to spend big money to have fun.
Just my option and I think I'm the target market. I'm not talking the market down either as good ones do sell...just not as quickly and not to me. Still an awesome car though!
ok I know this has been mentioned on many occasions but brakes....
I don't want the gt3 MC as personally I like the pedal travel, what I am keen to do is get rid of the stock discs and pads, are the only options the giro discs? are there any other slotted discs what are not nearly 2k?

sadly not as the gyro are larger which is needed for better heat management.I don't want the gt3 MC as personally I like the pedal travel, what I am keen to do is get rid of the stock discs and pads, are the only options the giro discs? are there any other slotted discs what are not nearly 2k?
good call on the GT3 MC, reducing pedal travel is daft/stupid thing to do. Most only did it as their pedal went to the floor as the brakes over heat !
Every good driver knows you need good modulation which means a bit of travel.
good investment the Gyro's on a R imo. if you do want a inbetwwen pedal Porsche's own PCCB MC is sized between the oem and the GT3 one.
I am not sure why no one fits this one, it's pretty perfect in the PCCB fitted cars.
the key to a firm pedal is proper bleeding on the 987 system in both the inner and outer nippes, your OPC is lazy and don't do the inner bleed !!!!
I always had bubble from the inner sides. It's annoying but bleeding the system right with with PWSIS or doing it then going out for a drive trigger ABS 5 to 6 times and re-bleed.
you cannot bleed the air out of a 987 in one go unless you can trigger the ABS via OBD port.

Thanks for the input ive been offered alot less by SOR but that method of selling just puts me off some!
Shes is lovely just not used enough so time for a new home
I shall be posting a full ad in the PH classifieds shortly
Cheers Iain

Car >30k have a big price hit also.
Buy out would be even worst than SOR so your sor prices shows how bad it is.
Jzm cars less miles, and £38k gives you an idea.
Trade on that must be what £32k/33k SOR was what £35k ?

Hi All
I shall be selling my R shortly and with talk of current prices wondering where to pitch it for a private sale
Meteor grey manual with buckets, spyder wheels, AC, Bose, nav, xenons but no exhaust or chrono, 34K miles on the clock
Was thinking around 38k if thats realistic?
Nice that. Great colour too.I shall be selling my R shortly and with talk of current prices wondering where to pitch it for a private sale

Without mentioning any names i was offed 40K SOR but with a hefting commission of 36K but less commission, i would have ended up with very similar figures in the end.
I appreciate they have a wider market penetration and can offer fiance to suit but ive also heard few horror stories regarding SOR so decided to steer clear!
JZM car yes has been for sale for 3 months, the 3 wettest months on record so im not too worries and im in no rush to sell
Appreciate the inputs though many thanks

No idea, maybe they cost too much now?
You can’t insinuate that on here, you’ll be shot. The values have dropped, clearly. That JZM car sold for £44k a year ago...now it won’t budge for £38k I know it's not an R but some people just want the newer stuff. The R is very niche.
This one's at a dealer so privately it could be in low £30's....alot of low mileage car right there. Also nice to have oil temp and pressure readings on the dash as apposed to a water temp dial that's meaningless IME
