Looks like I missed the Ashgoods car as a deposit was placed on it yesterday. If any owners are reading this and thinking of selling please reach out! Must be manual with buckets, AC/radio and full history

@breakfan nice to meet you Marco. Enjoy!
Thank you for a super smooth sale! I love the car!

I picked up WingNut's old CR last Friday with a 6am Eurotunnel booked for the following day on our way to the South of France. 1400km in one day no problem, even in the bucket seats! Coming from a 996 C4S, I've been genuinely shocked at how much better quality the CR feels overall. By every objective measure, its in a different league (ok, not the exhaust note...). Looking forward to getting to know it better. We're spoilt for roads down here...

On the way up to Mont Agel (Cap Ferrat in the background)

On the D2204 which links L'Escarene to Sospel via the Col de Braus. This is one of the Monte Carlo rally stages and some may recognise the hairpins in the background

Immaculate interior

Lovely. I have a bizarre proposal to suggest to you. I notice you have the full leather seats and Alcentera door armrest and grab handles. I have the opposite combo. Would you be interested to trade my mint condition leather door armrest and grab handles for your Alcentera ones? Not the whole panels, just those two pieces.
Best regards

What tyre pressures do you run for fast road use on your CR's please Gents ?
It’s tyre dependent, start with Porsche spec, if ps4s I ran about 2 psi less as the ps4s was a bit firm and harsh at oem spec, But the R psi is less than the S on the door cards anyway. I think.

Wow, I've never seen full leather buckets in an "R" before. Were they an option?

I looked at the Red R about 4 years ago when it was for sale up in Yorkshire as I recognised the full leather seats. I went for a test drive in it too but turned it down because I wanted PDK. Obviously now I have an R that is worthless with the wrong box and have regretted it ever since 😂

Surprised no one's commented on the full leather dash Peridot that's back up for sale after just a few months

IIRC the S pressures are 5 and 6 psi higher than the R ones (from the sticker). I run my Super Sports at 30 psi which is 1 below what the sticker on the car says.

Can anyone advise what the general consensus is on a PDK R?

FIL is looking to sell his and im not sure on the desirability of the PDK vs manual. My initial suspicion is less desirable but I am not that clued up on cayman R's.

This should be an interesting one. Be prepared for ‘good for scrap’ through to ‘my preference was for a PDK car’.......

Peridot is a great colour for the R. It would of been my colour of choice or speed yellow. I’ve ended up with Meteor Grey which i do like but not as much as Peridot. I also have PDK and that was my preference too. What’s the rest of the spec?

cars for every buyer but older the car the PDK is less sort after, so priced less.

So if you buy at £37k don't expect to get £45k Manual prices and then moan 2 years down the line !! buy cheaper sell cheaper.
gen 1 PDK is pretty st though, the 981 PDK is night and day better but then the 981's drive fake in all other area's !
But If I wanted a PDK car I would still buy a 981 GTS Cayman over a PDK R. !!! Thats just me though.

the markets is small for R's as it stands, it's 300 times smaller for PDK R's which just means long waits for a seller when you sell that's all.

Buy what you want and go in eyes open knowing that gen 1 PDK does not do what you ask of it and it is gen 1 tech and pay less. (A lot less)

there is no right and wrong box, but there are issues and prices differences between the box's.

Spec wise, you'll have to ignore my ignorance to whats standard spec and whats not but I know the following:

09/11 registration, 51k miles, xenon lights, 19 boxster spyder wheels in glass black, carbon seats, sat nav, parking sensors, cruise.

id probably use a daily, though them seats are a bit full on for daily use I think based on when i drove it to scotland.

You can plot price vs mileage of all cars currently for sale and get a line of best fit. Then look to see how many of the cars under that line are PDK. That will give you a good indication of whether PDK cars are marketed at lower values than manuals. Obvious this doesn't take into account transaction price.
