I think the black wheel rim looks odd against all that red but otherwise I like the red.
I like the red against this newly listed blue onehttps://www.reezocar.com/en/occasion/annonce-porsc...

A good article I think you'll like to read on the R vs the GT4

I can't say I'll be rushing to read any of the authors other musings if I'm blunt. You need to get about 90% through the article before there is even any talk of driving the things. The conclusion that the GT4 offers twice the satisfaction of the R seems at odds with what those who have owned both have said, however as I am yet to hoon a GT4 I will reserve judgement. I glossed over the various inaccuracies in the article but I'm sure readers of this thread will spot them.https://www.pressreader.com/uk/911-porsche-world/2...
I've just come to realise the one I have bought and due to collect end of July (the black one from about 10 pages back on this thread) is metallic black. I'm sure its nice. I would have preferred normal black, but then again I guess metallic black is quite classy (considering the amount of money) so I'm sure I'll be happy with it...but my question is did any black R's come in non-metallic as from searching it seems not. I guess the metallic black sets it more apart from Cayman S's which I see alot of non-metallic black in.
I guess I am having pre-collection nerves and probably worrying too much!

I guess I am also thinking that its taken well over a year for the right spec car to come along. If I waited it out for a flat black version (yet with the same spec) I could waiting years. The turn off is that in bright daylight the metallic is 'apparently' more purple/brown, but I guess in the UK most days are overcast and it'll appear a deep back colour.

the basalt black always look dirty that's it's issue, the metalic flake looks like flat black but with pollen on it.but then flat black looks dirty all the time due to pollen !!
I really don't like Basalt black for that reason, but as you say spec and condiditon is key on the R.
I have had Peridot and white R's, but I would hunt down Meteor grey if I wanted another I just fancy that combo atm, or just stay white .
Black is the slowest seller on the R so one would hope you paid a tad less for black than you would do for white or Peridot.
Red can be slow but you only need one buyer and there is alwasys that one buyer for red, Aqua Blue looks fab and a bit rare, I think there are 2 yellow UK cars and one Cream !! And of course the one Viper PTS.
I have owned 7 black cars but not in the last 10 years as I said "never again" on any sort of black.
You must like it as you bought it :-) as there have been 2 high spec white cars for sale for 12 months !!! (both now just sold at top £££££)
whites really the safe easy resale colour and then demands the top ££££
I would 100% ceramic any black car in full these days, it's the rescue of a black car imo.

Oh no. I am beginning to wonder if I have made a bad decision and might pull out of the purchase. Deposit is refundable (I'll just have swallow the costs I spent fort the 111 check before going ahead. I'll sleep on it, I want black, but I think best to wait until a non metallic black comes up for sale.
Thanks for your feedback!

Seriously dude, buy it and enjoy it. I owned black cars for 17 years in one form or another and yes they get dirty, all cars do. But nothing looks better when cleaned up than a properly glossy black car. Thanks for your feedback!
Best regards
You’re massively overthinking this car from what I’m reading, just enjoy it.

Maybe I am worrying too much. Metallic black does seem to accentuate the curves of the car more
looks lovely in these videos

even in daylight it doesn't look brown or purple.
whereas this gloss black one is no more beautiful
https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/cayman-r-6/
I'm probably having unnecessary jitters. After all its still black, buckets, leather dash and extended leather bits, less than 30K miles.
Pics of the one I am buying....
