I would have washed the wheels :-)
I did a bit with Auto Finesse wheel cleaner but then it didn’t seem to do much.

Looks great. But you’re brave leaving your pride and joy parked out on the street all the time. I’d have an area taped off around the car.
Yep wish I had a garage or off street parking (challenging in London) but at least it’s a very quiet road no thoroughfare traffic.

And dressed the tyres ?? - still looks great.
smile I did afterwards. Forgot to do so and then popped back out and applied the Auto Finesse Satin liquid.

Still looking for a nice R if anyone is looking to sell!
Haven’t quite found the right one yet and procrastination has also played a key part...

Ideally manual, buckets, pse etc. but feel free to try me!

Cheers
What’s put you off the grey one out of curiosity? Too high price tag?

I’d get them re-finished in silver so you actually appreciate the beautiful design wink
Nah, just get them squeaky clean, you can see all the detail you need, and the gloss black with silver bead is the best looking wheel finiesh of the lot :

Sorry Slippy, think you've just demonstrated how badly a black wheel 'doesn't' show the lovely Spyder wheel...

More a reflection of my mediocre photographic skill than the wheels themselves Jim biggrin
I must admit, I'm not a fan of black wheels normally, but the black gloss with silver lip Spyder wheels polished up, looked stunning in the flesh, but like most black wheels, they rarely photographed well unless the light conditions were good

That's what I've found too.

Good question - was tempted to be fair. Probably a couple of reasons spec wise combined with me not wanting to meet the price with that in mind.

No sports exhaust and no rear park sensors the main reasons and not sure grey my favourite colour. I do think it’s a clean car.

I’m really struggling time wise to go and look at cars (i’m up north most for sale down south) and unless price is where i’m comfortable i’m not prepared to go and shlepp down for a look.

I am having regret over not moving on the white car that was on AT (now sold) in the last week or so. Lesson learnt their so when the right one comes along now I’ll move on it and probably less concerned about paying what needed.

Black looks great if you’re up close inspecting them but from anything more than 3 foot they just get lost with the tyre imo.
Beautiful wheels but silvers my favourite on the R. Or Aurum gold as Mogsmex has just done.

My opinion only but everyone is different with different needs and option and mileage wants but if you can get almost your exact spec and mileage you require be ready to pull the trigger asap you know it will go good ones do, at the end of the day it costs what it costs.
Be lucky enjoy.

All Spyder wheels are the best regards of colour but mine are gloss black silver lip I think they look good clean and go with all the black CR script
They look better in the flesh than in photos.

Grey one is lovely

PSE is no massive loss, IMO (and mine has it)

Bigger misses are Chrono and Cruise, though both can be retrofitted if wanted

I thought rear sensors were standard fit, no?

I have managed to drive an R without sports exhaust. Agree sounds good but for me the engine is a highlight and the louder / better the exhaust sound the better.

Didn’t see rear sensors and just watched the video on Ashgood website and don’t see them?

Agreed chrono / cruise / shirt shifter all easy retrofit if required.

Agree with previous reply that may have to stump up when the right one comes and be a bit quicker but it’s still a lot of cash and need to be sure.

Boat sailed on the grey one now for me..

Rear parking sensors are an extra mine hasn't got them but it's not an everyday car so don't miss or need them.

Just back form PCGB East London meet which well worth a visit and is every 3rd Sunday in the month, nice crowd and great variety of cars.

Ashgood grey R was there and looked fantastic.

On another note you 'R' chaps should be proud, a comment from one of the Ashgood guys today 'The people interested in buying Cayman R's from us really know their stuff, by far the nerdiest we have to deal with, even more than the GT customers' hehe

Do you have a copy of the 987.2S manual?
Do you want a copy of my 987.1S one for starters....alot of things are common to the gen 2.

I guess suspension between gen 1 and 2 isn't different in terms of actual bolt torque settings surely.

Edited by Andyoz on Friday 16th October 17:20
I have neither Andy, but if you have a copy to share that would be very much appreciated smile
Can you message me your email as it's 90Mb and I can only share via cloud link

I have looked into the gen 2 manual and it appears to be unobtanium in PDF format!

The gen 1 manual gets us 90% of the way there though.

The owner of mine had them refinished a few years ago from their original silver. The color isn't a straight black. There is a slight grey/green tinge to it that I liked as soon as I saw it in the flesh.

Not sure if it's the stock color but I think there's slightly more ontrast between the rim color and the new black centre caps he'd just put on compared to this photo from poster above (might just be the photo). I'll try to get a decent up close photo of mine when I'm back at home.
