The 3.5% discount is still there...well as of Monday this week when the person actually ordered the car.

As for slots what do you mean?

The guy I bought my car off got his Jan 2021 slot moved to this month.
The other one I refer to I think has a Jan slot.
How hard are you actually trying to buy one?

not pushing as I am still waiting for the demo car to drive, £80k is a lot of money, and not buying this blind.
I know the last lot of slots had all gone at the end of OCT but was offered a GT4 !!!
I have not phoned back to be fair. Plus I keep asking for a 718 Spyder slot so still hold a very tiny bit of hope :-).

So you're not really buying a GTS then...just thinking about it?

Lad that put depost down on one on Monday did so after a 3 hour test drive on the weekend. They can't be that hard to get a test drive in if you really want to.

My Local OPC don't have a demo yet, not fussed enough to travel, I'll have a chat with them in 2021 about 718 Spdyers again before commiting to a Cayman GTS.

I just think £40k+ R's are going to get harder to achieve into next year

They are pumping out GTS 4.0 like there's no tomorrow

Edited by Andyoz on Friday 6th November 08:55
They are pumping out a model which, availability wise, is oversaturated. Comparatively, the R will remain rarer, and parking the debate on if the GTS 4 is a better car (as that is all apples and oranges), one can't deny the R will always have more distinct kudos and respect over the GTS4.0

That they are 'They are pumping out GTS 4.0 like there's no tomorrow ' is a great benefit to the R.

How many Gibson Les Pauls have been produced? There is a reason why a 1959 Les Paul is £200K+ , vs a new one at £1K. Scarcity and originality, for which the GTS4 will possess none of.

Surely by that reckoning a 2005 Cayman S is the scarce and original model?

Apparently 2000 '59 Les Paula were made and only 3000 remain in circulation smile

I've got some vintage guitars but like cars I'm not so sure there will be buyers for them in 20 years. A 25yo now will be 45 then and at the peak of their spending power. They won't have much attachment to a 50/60's guitar ...they'll be wanting a pair of Kanye's old sneakers or something.

Pictures now up. It looks nice. It'll be sold on Monday bet ya.
The headlight washers bother me though on any Cayman, ruins the curve.

Perhaps so. But is the original Cayman 2005 rarer than the R?

Does look nice but the mileage starts with a '4' so it's near ready for the crusher.

Seriously though, this will be a tester for how popular black is.

Well the last Black Manual sold within 48hrs if I recall. The one with the ceramic brakes and red interior, which then was then available again a week later by a dealer, with a questionable markup. But that eventually sold too. I'd be very surprised if this sticks around. I can't be the only one who was solely after black, must be others as fussy as me out there! smile

When I was looking for my R ( now gone ) , it was Peridot or nothing but I’ve got to say that an R in black is growing on me , that one at 911V is a beautiful looking example.
Can’t see it being there long.

Rocket.

I've been keeping an eye on Andreas mods for a while and I really like what he has done but for me now they are finished they are just a bit big for my taste. A 25% reduction in size for the ducktail and splitter and I would be buying them. It is a great 1st effort though and I wish him all the best, I would also say his car needs lowering a bit to really show them off.

It's definitely sensibly priced.

I don't know - I think a few hundred at most.

It depends on how you define original I suppose.

Rarity is another issue - 981 GTS manual is a very rare car.

It might end up that the 2.5 4T GTS is a very rare car, especially with a manual gear box. Will it be desirable/valuable in future?

It's subjective but the ducktail looks awful. And the front splitter even worse.
