Does look nice but the mileage starts with a '4' so it's near ready for the crusher.

Seriously though, this will be a tester for how popular black is.
Well the last Black Manual sold within 48hrs if I recall. The one with the ceramic brakes and red interior, which then was then available again a week later by a dealer, with a questionable markup. But that eventually sold too. I'd be very surprised if this sticks around. I can't be the only one who was solely after black, must be others as fussy as me out there! smile
It's definitely sensibly priced.
Personally is feels over priced to me which is rare for 911Virgin as they are normally on the mark. But with a combination of the >40k mileage (which isn't a deal breaker, but is a factor), no nav, and more importantly no air con, £39k feels too high.

Shoot me down but I'd say more like £36k or £37k tops.

Ah, so that's the smoking gun....

Apart from that, screw the mileage. I did 100 miles today when many seem to have been parked up already....I did wash and dry it for ages though before she went into garage wink

Must be a sor car and the sellers asked it to be that price.
I agree £36.5k value from me, it’s a daft price as it stands.

I also hate the line “sound investment” why do that in an advert. .?

To quote the advert...

"Next service due 15/01/2022 or at 60799 miles which ever comes first"

Anyone care to take bets on WHICH COMES FIRST...

I haven't used my R for about 3 weeks now. Is that terribly bad for the car to be sat there unused for that amount of time. For the car that is, not for me! Should I take it for a run for the good of the car after certain periods of inactivity? (again for the car, not for the good of me).
Best regards
Julian

Thank you. I’m not to know, never had a car before that starts first turn of the key or with AC so i appreciate it may seem a naive question.
Thanks

Is this a serious question ? 3 weeks ! some cars sit in a compound for a year , many on here sorn their car for 6 months over the winter period with no ill effects ,just keep in on a conditioner .extra air in tyres and it will survive, don't start a car up and idle it during this period .

Is your car tucked up inside, or left outside to the elements? And if outside, can you still connect a battery conditioner/trickle charger?

Well on the topic of use, it is now the time of year up here in NE Scotland where each time you get the car out for a run, it could easily be the last before winter. Last week I was off work and with some unseasonably good weather, the car got a chunk of miles on it including a run on Friday over the incredible Glenshee road. It was only 1 degree at the summit so likely wont be long until the salting begins and the car gets put on charge and locked up for winter.

There were some nice dry sections of road where the sun had burned off all the moisture and I could really lean on the car. That's definitely when the R comes alive. I did almost wish it was a bit heavier on one section though as you really have to watch your speed so not to get the car way off the deck on some of the crests! I miss my old Impreza on those as it flew (and crucially landed) brilliantly - the enormous wing on it maybe was quite useful. biglaugh

The car goes for a service next week and that might well be its last outing of 2020, although if we get more oddly mild weather then you never know. I've managed 3300 miles in the last year in spite of covid which I don't think is too bad. smile

3300 miles across Scotland's finest blacktop sounds a proper result given the situation the world's found itself in these past 9 months smile

Anyone have recommendations for indoor covers for their R.

Currently looking at this one from Classic Additions. I noticed they specifically list the R in their options so assume the fixed rear spoiler is accounted for.

Anybody know of a suitable steering lock for the R? I had the Stoplock Pro on my 996 but can't get it to fit the R

Thank you. Yep naive but a serious question. My previous cars have been 74 Beetle, 68 Mustang Fastback, 944 Turbo. I am 50 years old but I have never had a modern car in my life. I appreciate it is naive but I genuinely don't know how bad it is for cars to not be used. All my other cars would never turn over after a few weeks of no use. Thanks you for kindly replying.
Best regards
