That manual one seems to be priced a very optimistically. A fiver short of £40k for a car that does not have buckets, has covered 44k miles AND used to be a hire car. I thought that I recognised the number plate and it belonged to a sports car hire company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itdgeupYhEwhttps://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202102189...

(the other PDK car looks over priced too given how that the black sytner car sat around for c.4 months at £36K)

Are you a lurking buyer or do you already have one? I think those prices are quite reasonable from dealers. They may not be ultimate spec because if they were they'd be £45k plus(the other PDK car looks over priced too given how that the black sytner car sat around for c.4 months at £36K)

I am currently in the category of ‘looking to buy’. I’ve wanted an R since sitting in one at an OPC when they were first launched ( I still have the original book/brochure that they gave me that day). I just haven’t been in a position to buy until recently as I’ve needed something with 4 seats for family duties.
Some may think that is a fair price for a car that has spent a number of years as a hire car for weekend joy riders, and they may not care about the history. But regardless of price and ignoring that aspect, other potential buyers might be more interested in the history and that may affect their decision. So I wanted to share that info in case it was of interest to other potential purchasers.
1 of only 100 manual Cayman R's - really?
"Last serviced on 17/05/2018 at 38,801 miles"
So it's already well past the 2 year interval and the dealer's not even getting it serviced before sale. Sellers are starting to take the piss. Signs of a wee bubble I think when premium prices being asked for potentially sub par stock.

Actually a friend that also watches the R market reminded me that ex hire company R was advertised last year - with the tag line “hire this car to try -before you buy”
Thought it was cheeky/strange back then.
I remember that advert.Thought it was cheeky/strange back then.
Who warms up hire cars...really?

Not sure about the accusation of lurking, I was hoping the info about the history of that particular car was contributing to the forum. However in response to the question.......

Good spot on it being an ex hire car and thanks for sharing. I am currently in the category of ‘looking to buy’. This isn't one for me, but I enquired ages ago to my local dealer about an S or R to use a weekend toy and track car and was sent some details of one they have just bought. This would be too good to ruin as it's only done under 1700 miles, but it does tick the manual, bucket seats, sports exhaust, one-owner, Porsche history box. It's mental money in my opinion!

Don’t suppose you have a link for the vehicle? If not do you know where and how much? Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
