Thank you for a super smooth sale! I love the car!

I picked up WingNut's old CR last Friday
Reminder post from a few days ago.... I have a bizarre proposal to suggest to you. I notice you have the full leather seats and Alcentera door armrest and grab handles. I have the opposite combo. Would you be interested to trade my mint condition leather door armrest and grab handles for your Alcentera ones? Not the whole panels, just those two pieces.
Best regards

What recommendations do you have to clean up surface rust on the brake disks?
of the car I am due to pick up end of this month, this is only thing I feel that lets it down. Is it curable even?

another two went on sale today too. No pics yet uploaded. The one on AutoTrader I called about it. Its white PDF, no buckets, if anyone is interested. The one on Pisonheads at Porsche Bristol seems interesting as it has natural leather interior which I don't think I have seen on an R...wonder what colour the car itself is.

Drive fast and brake hard, repeat , have fun for an hour driving like this, and then go home, inspect your now clean discs lock the car, pour a beer and smile.

What are you hoping to hear?

Drive it, or if that’s proving too difficult just buy a new set, leave them wrapped in the oil impregnated paper and they will stay shiny and new. Add some ACF50 for good measure just in case. Lol

Not sure really. This CR, after 30 years of driving, is going to be the first modern car I have ever owned and so any advice is welcome. Never had that issue on older cars, so perhaps its systemic to modern cars where the disks are so exposed, rather than hidden behind Fuch's.

It’s systemic to cars that are unused.
Seriously, drive it and enjoy it.

Disks go rusty within 10 minutes of being wet ?

nothing to do with modern cars or wheels.

As various others have said, drive it is the answer. Everytime I wash the car the discs look like that by the time I'm finished. I dry the car then drive round the block giving the brakes a good shove a few times to clean off the rust - the drive also blows water out the panel gaps a bit which I can then pat dry. Annoyingly this can leave a bit of dirt inside the wheels but I wipe this off before the car goes back in the garage. I also always leave it with the handbrake off to prevent any residual moisture rusting the pads to the discs.

But just for clarity. Drive it! thumbup

One of the few cars I really like. Never see them in green in the classifieds any more. Used to be a peridot car with PCCB nr my office. Can't help taking a second look overtime I walked pass smile
