I didn't think it had gone to 982.

The updated Carrera/s turbo updates are just 991.2 rather than 992.

I thought these were regarded as a big facelift/update... 981.2.

The first line of the article gives the info:

Or roughly, "Porsche makes the Boxster series 981 to 718 Boxster, series 982."

I got £500 off Cayman 981S the day it was released and I know there are 718 slots available in May / June so not sold out just yet!

Went to a Porsche dealer- It's actually quite a bit nicer inside than the old Boxster IMO.
Like the new steering wheel also.

For those of you waiting for a 718 Cayman (like me) my OPC confirmed last night the launch date as June 18th. Happy days.

I forgot to add. Official on sale date of 718 Boxster is 30th April (we all knew that already). I didn't realise OPCs can't register their Demo's until then. So test drives also starting 30th April.

Porsche also running twice daily 718 test drive events at SEC from 16th - 25th of May. Ask your OPCs nicely kids.

Have just ordered a 718 Cayman................wanted it to sound good so opted for sports exhaust although £1530 over & above normal exhaust, but hey have to have a bit if fun...........................

I have put my 2k down on a Cayman S but not created the spec yet. My OPC says that it is waiting for build slots at that time I can firm up spec.
Are they waiting to fill slots with their own orders hoping to sell on at a profit? has anyone ordered in July and got a tentative delivery date ???

I don't trust them.....

Pretty standard. They won't be selling the new ones at a profit. I can walk in to the showroom and get a couple of grand of a stock car. Something you've never been able to do before.

I ordered one last Saturday, paid the deposit, and gave them a rough spec to work the numbers out. The build time will be sometime in January, but they are unsure of the exact date. The spec lock down will be a couple of months prior to that, so say October/November, when I will have to increase the deposit to 10% and get credit checked.

Excellent choice I think, it's the smile your going to get everytime you look @the car & get in it..............everone who bemoans it is just plain jealous !
