Well I have about a week before lockdown and after a visit to Solihull this week I've chickened out of Lava Orange biglaugh Final spec needed a jig around and auto climate had to go, I lived without it on a 981 CS so no biggie :

CS
Crayon
Sport-Tex Black
718 logo painted Black
Park Assist F&R
SportDesign package painted in Black
Headlight cleaning system painted in Black
Bi-Xenon PDSL in Black
PDK
Sport PASM
Sport Chrono
Sports exhaust in Black
20" Carrera Sport wheels in Black
GT sport steering wheel
Sports seats Plus 2-way
Seat heating
Interior package painted
BOSE

I'll be using Porsche Finance and negotiated a £1k dealer contribution discount, I would never have asked for that if it hadn't been for this thread!

I really think that's it now ... so glad after next week I can't change my mind hehe

Hey Andy, spec looks great mate! I've been told a week until lockdown, build in July and delivery September, when's your build scheduled for?

Hey Si, your spec looks great as well ... I do like the sport design pack but couldn't justify the additional cost. I think Crayon looks great on the GT3 so it will be great to see that on a Cayman.

My lock-down is 15th May but no firm build date. I was told the factory is staring to accelerate now so likely 6-8 weeks after lock-down for build. So that would be mid-July latest but then you are in the lap of the gods as to whether you car leaves the factory before it closes in August. If it does then should be ready for delivery end of July / early August. If it doesn't leave the factory before holiday then it will be in September. So I think what you were told is probably anticipating your car not leaving the factory prior to holiday.

Oh god ... that just made it a bit too exciting Andy! Now I'm gonna be keeping everything crossed that it's a July/August delivery!!

Yeah the SportDesign is silly money, that's why my car is so light on tech inside, basically a bit of a bimbo car biggrin

I think you've got a pretty good balance of performance and looks ... with SPASM, Sport Chrono, PDK it will have a lot of go ... and with Crayon SportDesign and black it'll have plenty of show.

Hey Si, great spec! Love crayon and black combo - badge, exhaust etc. I've ordered mine from Porsche Solihull back in Jan, and got into a bit of a debacle on the price. When I ordered they agreed I wouldn't be affected by any price increases, and have since gone back on their word (and never gave me a copy of the t&cs). Interesting to see you managed a £1000 discount, when even I was going to walk they wouldn't budge on the price. And have told me Sytner Porsche never discount! I'm using Porsche finance too...that all said I'm px my old car which may influence things. Either way be interested to hear how you did it - looked back through the thread and couldn't see anything.

Hey Ollie!

I just casually dropped dealer contributions into the conversation with my salesman when we were revising the spec saying that it sounded like quite a few people were getting them from what I'd read on forums. He disappeared to have a chat with the finance manager and came back saying they'd agree to the £1K I'd asked for. I've been dealing with the same guy for about 10 yrs now and this will be the 7th car I've had from them so that might have made the difference, not sure ... No part-ex for me this time.

Cheers

Si

When you go into autotrader, they are advertising brand new basic 718 cayman for £40433 & Porsche UK site has RRP of £42897 so that's a straight 5.7% discount.

Got to wonder if they've really got cars in stock for that. If they bought pre price increase, totally basic model on the road before price and VED increase was quoted to me as £40,377. The price I've paid for mine is a little more than I had expected, but actually a little less than I had expected after the price increase (there was a spec increase at the same time as the price increase), and the changes in VED.

Thanks Si appreciate that. I think they maybe hanging out to see what happens when Porsche uk review the residual values in June/July which will influence the monthlies. That said it won't change the price of the car. Will wait to see what they say when lock down spec.

snorbs, good spec there. It does seem that Sport-tex is very popular on here and carmine is a great colour, really rich and stands out on the road.
