Most of my options are cosmetic or performance. If I was on a serious budget I reckon the only thing I'd consider a must have would be 20" rims smile

Got Miami Blue Porsches in the game I'm working on. Porsche approved RGB values are 2,180,209. Hope that helps.

Can I ask what is the least expensive 718 someone has actually bought that they are satisfied with, we all seem to be putting a fair few extras on it, so I am interested as to how close to £40K someone had got & are still happy with there spec.
I've had a test drive with both standard suspension and PASM and 20" wheels and there is nothing wrong with the standard suspension. Far from it, Porsche know how to set up a car and the handling was superb. I've also compared the manual gearbox (with sport chrono) and PDK/sport chrono. I don't like automatics but the PDK is sublime but using sport+ in auto is completely unusable (IMHO) and as I don't get on with the paddles, I'm looking at manual and no sport chrono.

I would look at a wheel upgrade to at least 19's and then get the stuff that is standard on lesser cars that YOU will use e.g. cruise control, auto wipers/dimming mirrors, climate control and rear parking sensors. The alcantara interior looks good but I would urge you to try both the standard (sport) and the optional (sport+) seats.

2 way sports seats plus (black)
Seat heating
Electrical Folding mirrors

LED headlights
Park assist front and rear
Model deletion

I've got the same spec as you in all but colour and wheel choice, I've gone for guards red and the carerra sport wheels. The only thing that comes to mind for me is dimming mirrors (with the automatic wipers) and cruise - it's going to be my daily so couldn't really resist spending a bit more on these basics.

Not sure if Cayman is different from the Boxster (apart from the obvious) but things I put on Mrs Cheib's incoming Boxster

Smoking Package
Isofix (if you have kids you can't turn off the front passenger airbag without this)
Footwell storage net
64-litre fuel tank

I'd agree on the dimming mirrors as its something that's been standard on so many cars for such a long time it's become one of those "must haves".

When we ordered it the OPC insisted on us booking a loan car for a weekend....luckily booked this weekend. A lot worse weekend's to have a soft top looking at the weather forecast!

Two-zone automatic climate control?
Delete Sport Chrono unless you're tracking it. As a previous poster says, it's useless otherwise.
Delete Sport tailpipes in black. The standard ones will go black naturally!
I've had auto dimming mirrors previously in BMW, Merc, Audi, but now like my door mirrors staying clear at night rather than all three mirrors dimming. To dim the rear view mirror, I raise my hand and there's a little switch under it. wink
I don't get blinded, but I am still able to see cars coming up either side at night.

Doesn't this come as default?

Mine has a 64 litre tank and I didn't spec it as an option.

Hi All

I'm new here to posting in this forum, although have spent many an hour browsing this and many other Porsche forums contemplating a new Cayman 718 S..well, the time came - ordered in February and it was spec lock down day today at Porsche Nottingham. As people have been sharing their specs, I thought I'd try and curb my excitement by sharing mine now its finalised:

Cayman 718 S
Miami Blue
Black full leather interior
Model designation '718'
LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus
Park assist (front and rear)
PDK
Sports suspension (-20mm) with PASM
Sports exhaust
20-inch Carrera Sport wheels
Cruise control
Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
Light design package
Sports seats Plus (2-way, electric)
Two-zone automatic climate control
Seat heating
Smoking package
Passenger footwell storage net (FREE!)
ISOFIX
Silver Grey seat belts
Porsche Crest embossed on headrests
Storage compartment lid with Porsche Crest
Brushed aluminium interior package
Brushed aluminium PDK gear selector
BOSE

...phew!

The car needed to be exactly what I want, unique and have no risk of 'spec remorse' what-so-ever. Couldn't be happier with where I've landed.

Build is confirmed mid-August.

Spent Monday at the Porsche Driving Experience down at Silverstone, fabulous time, great facility and really friendly people. Spent the entire afternoon hooning around in a Carmine Red Cayman S - what a sublime car the Cayman is. The handling balance was wonderful and the motor felt very, very strong (I even liked the way it sounded, but hey, I may be in the minority here?). Great day for seeing different options, colours etc e.g. had a good time with launch control...but absolutely brutal and wouldn't be doing that with my car (it's likely harmless unless really abused, but my mechanical sympathy made me wince every time my foot came of the brake and the car launched forwards...great fun, but I'd never use it (same with Sport+ which I thought just made the PDK jerky) so Sport Chrono was off the list of potential options).

Keep the posts coming everyone, always fascinating to see what specs people have chosen and great to see the excitement of new and future owners as specs are finalised and new cars delivered.

Cheers all,

Andy

3 months in and still loving the driving experience IMO the 718 has more positives that negatives over the 981 and all previous models having owed them from 2003. Had the car coated precollection with gtechniq still looks good

Very similar spec to mine. Great colour choicesmile

I also included lane assist. I have had that on my last 3 BMW's and find it so useful.

I have been toying with the idea of Miami Blue but have not see it in the flesh (except on a new RS6) and I don't really want to stand out that much smile. I have had the Sapphire Blue on a few of the courtesy cars from Porsche Exeter and it sort of made me fall in love with in smile!

A little concerned about bringing the paint colour into the car, was thinking it would be a CEO contrast to the black interior but having watched Wheeler Dealers last night where they had a 2002 range with Blue and black paint and then the Blue taken inside it looked a pit tacky frown. In two minds smile. Also, thinking about the PSE but can fit that later at only a small premium and I am already way above what I wanted/hoped to spend smile.

Hey Maidstone, I think the painted interior trim is really hit or miss depending on the colour. In my OPC there were quite a few cars with it specced, it looked fantastic on their Lava Orange car, decent on the Carrera White car and tacky as hell on the Miami one ... it's something you really need to see before ordering I think. And I ordered it for my Crayon CS without seeing it biggrin Although I did find pics of Fashion Grey cars with it and it looked great so I'm hoping it's the same for Crayon.
