718 Cayman Spec & Colours- what have you gone for?

Right,
So my deposit was paid to my OPC at the very beginning of July. I was told I would get a car this year.
Today they have confirmed I still don't have a build date, but that they "hope to have more news by the end of this month".
Pathetic. So that's 3 months since deposit was paid, and still no build date, despite knowing a number of people in the UK who paid deposits later in July or even August who are getting cars this year.
I've told them I want confirmation of a build slot this week or I want my deposit back.
That is a farce. Might be worth speaking with some other OPCs around lead times. You may still be able to secure delivery for this year somewhere else.So my deposit was paid to my OPC at the very beginning of July. I was told I would get a car this year.

I paid my deposit on July 16th, and was told I wouldn't get a car this year. Up to now the promise has been faithfully (un)delivered on, but I'm hoping I'll get news of my build slot some time in November. I think it's entirely dependent on your particular OPC's model allocation and the number of orders they took early on. Frustrating that others are getting cars earlier, but sounds like my OPC was straighter with me than yours. So my deposit was paid to my OPC at the very beginning of July. I paid deposit 4th July & have firmed up options, but still awaiting build date. Would prefer this side of April (17) due to road tax.Liam

However I went to Jaguar centre yesterday.......Jag F type 3lt auto with same options a my 718, but incl. 5yr service & phone to car so can start, heat car & seats, clear windshield all from the luxury of my house in the winter......
Interesting ..........came to 65k but dealer offered to match price of my Cayman 57k with delivery in Jan/Feb......
Now wondering if I should cancel & order a Jag ??

Sounds a good deal but its a bit worrying for the residual value of the Jag if they are discounting it to that extent. However I went to Jaguar centre yesterday.......Jag F type 3lt auto with same options a my 718, but incl. 5yr service & phone to car so can start, heat car & seats, clear windshield all from the luxury of my house in the winter......

I looked at the Jag F type, it is a nice looking car in the S model the base car looks a bit ordinary. Performance much better and engines much more efficient on Porsche, especially CO2. Interior quality on Jag is a bit below par for a car in this market segment. I also have concerns about JLR reliability and the overall dealer experience based on past experience.
The point about post April 1, 2017 deliveries is relevant as the new car tax rules will come as an additional cost burden for 5 years of RFL and first year charge. Also the possibility of a rumoured price rise next year to consider, so not an easy choice.
So I have finalised my spec (yesterday was my freeze date). This is what I have settled on:
718 Cayman S
Graphite Blue Metallic
Black / Crayon two-tone leather interior
Deletion of model designation
Bi-Xenon headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) ParkAssist (front and rear)
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Sports exhaust system (incl. sports tailpipes in black)
20-inch Carrera S wheels
Wheels painted in satin black (complete)
GT sport steering wheel
Sports seats Plus (2-way, electric)
Seat heating
Carbon interior package (with leather interior)
Navigation Module for Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
Car is due to leave the factory 8th Nov. Does anyone know how long it generally takes for car to reach UK and be ready for collection once it has left the factory? Cannot wait now.

My wife and I went to Jag Leicester to look at the F-Pace in July. First thing my wife did was open the tailgate and (try to) lift the floor cover. The handle came away in her hand...At the same time we tried opening the auto tailgate of a Discovery Sport in the showroom and it took maybe a dozen presses of the tailgate switch to make it rise.
We left. We bought a BMW instead.

Also thx all for Jag comments, must be why dealer had 6 secondhand ones for sale !
Finalised my Spec last week as follows:
718 Cayman S
Graphite Blue
Black/Bordeaux Red two tone interior
Park assist F&R
Folding mirrors
PDK
PASM
Sport Chrono
Sports exhaust Black tailpipes
20 inch Carrerra Classic wheels & Full colour wheel centres
GT sport wheel
Sport seats plus
Seat heating
Smoker package (for additional 12v socket)
Passenger footwell storage net
Porsche crest on headrests
Nav Module
DAB radio
As mentioned on other posts the Graphite Blue looks much different to the colour on the configurator. Saw it at the launch and really liked it. Delivery early December.
