Hi folks, collected my new toy today, 07 987 3.4S, drove no problems on 250 mile trip home, did some running around and again no problems, happy boy.

I then put it in the garage with the roof down as its a tight squeeze to get in and out, I then noticed when getting into the car to fiddle with the stereo that the window no longer drops before the door opens as it was before. I tried the window switch and it now no longer goes right to the bottom and when I close it it goes up to the top then drops back down, second attempt closes the window.

Any ideas?

Would I have upset something in the window mechanism squeezing in and out?

Cheers in advance for any help.

You could try retraining it.

That was a quick reply thanks.

I'm new to Porsche, how to I relearn it?

With the roof closed, try dropping the wind right down and holding the switch for around 5 seconds. Repeat for other side.

Surely you'd just google it or refer to your manual rather than listen to a random bloke on PH?

Cheers for the information folks, I'll have a go tomorrow either from this advice or will also have a look in the manual.

Will let you know how I get on.

Well I couldn't stop worrying about my window so put down my glass of wine and did the reset thing, done the trick :-)

A good number of people, myself included, have found this forum to be an invaluable source of good, useful information that often results in considerable savings. If you choose not to avail yourself of this facility, that's your perogative, but I object to being refered to as a 'random bloke' when you know nothing of me whatsoever.

Surely not knowing anything about someone makes them a random bloke ? My window regulator went soon after I picked my 3.4S gen 2. lucky it wasn't that. Forums like this have saved me a lot of cash. I had z4 with lots of brake warning lights. Hit the forums . Ended up taking the brake modulator out sending it off to get it repaired. Total job with having to buy chinese code reader pressure bleeder etc £300 ish. Was a £2k job if taken to BMW. I think the modulator was £1400 alone with out labour costs. I would have not had a clue if it wasn't for forums. Keep up the good work.
