Could anyone advise me the best company to insure a 981 Boxter 3.4 'S', fully comprehensive? I have a full no claims bonus on a Motor Traders Policy, which covers me for vehicles up to the value of £15,000, and will not consider raising the premium to cover a Boxter. I am 69, live in SK8 (Cheshire), and the Boxter would be a weekend/holiday car! The value of the car would be £35,000 to £40,000. Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

I went with SAGA for my 2014 981 Cayman.

Best trade off of cost vs. reviews on the Auto Express survey: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/92312/best-c...

Do a "Compare the market..." or similar quote to get a list of premiums. Beware the cheapest ones!

Oh... and when you've seen a good premium, apply via a cash back site like: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/home and get some money back too!

Try Direct Line if you don't need track cover.

Most the normal insurers will cover you. You may want to check that the insurer will treat the motor traders no claims the same as private car no claims. Insurers can be awkward buggers at times! For your info my Cayman R is similar value, I also live in Cheshire and came in at around £500 with Axa.

Great, thanks everyone, that gives me something to work on!! The first I have tried is Saga, and their quote is £757. I will try Direct Line, because I won't be using it on track!!

If you are only doing low mileage, try the insurace through PCGB

I use a multi car policy wth LV. In fac. Have my home/contents with them too. My Boxster costs me a tad over 300 a year. That is only 40 a year more than my Ford Focus diesel daily runner.

Thanks for that also!! It is worth a try, because it could actually replace my Traders Policy, and may work out cheaper O/A.
