Is it a good time to buy a 981 Cayman
Discussion
As the title says it is a good time to buy a 981 with the new model just round the corner. Have being offered what I think is a very good and fair deal. Should I hold out or go for it now as am in no hurry but it is a car with the majority of things I like in my favourite colour. Will used car values drop significantly when the new model is launched.
Yes, if you like the car get it bought or someone else will. As you will know there aren't a great number of 986/987/981 owners likely to upgrade to the 718 compared to how many would if it still had six cylinders turbo or not. This is likely to mean the last of the 981 cars won't drop much if anything in price as they will sell.

I would rather have the 718 or a 987.2, 981 just feel very numb for me and I could not do it even after 4 or 5 test drives now trying to like it, but just cannot gel with the 981.If I wanted a softer car I would go for one with a bit of extra BHP like the M4 Comp pack car at the same money !

Yes, loving my 2.7 981. Better than 987 for room and interior, better than any of my Aston, BMW, Merc, Audi cars over 30 years.
Better, in my view, than the 718. But do go drive 987.2 and 718 before you decide.
With prices of new cars from abroad set to increase due to the pound, used residuals should do well too, but that applies to any car you can buy quickly before the price rises. The Germans can bet we'll still be queuing for their cars after a 10% price hike. We're just too in love with them to snub them now.
In my other hobby, Saxophones, I have been advised of price increases already between 6 - 10% from EU and far eastern manufacturers.
