£660 for 1 year is not expensive compared with Mercedes. Just had a quote of £847 for Tier 1 cover for my 3 year old C Class diesel estate with 36K on the clock.

I certainly will not bother with the Merc warranty as I have a choice of two very good Indies not far away . However, I did take the 2 year Porsche option at £1190 which I considered reasonable considering the complexities of the engine, PDK transmission, roof mechanism and electronics etc.

Yes but the warranty isn't mileage dependent, whereas the liklihood of failure to a large extent is. So those who do a low mileage will be subsidising those who do a higher one. In my case even at the end of 5 years (it's just coming up to 3 years now) it will only have done around 25000 miles. I wouldn't expect any modern car to have a serious (expensive) failure in that mileage - particularly as my car won't be tracked. If the car had a history of failures as the GT3 has, I might think differently - but the 981 doesn't seem to have any recurring and expensive faults.

The £1190 for the 2 year and £660 for the 1 year warranty already includes 20% VAT. Strange that it is 20% and not the much lower VAT rate on insurance policies generally but seem to recall that this has been discussed previously on here but cannot remember the exact reasoning for 20% and not the lower rate.

The 111 point check requirement is listed at £180 + VAT@20% = £216. It seems this amount can sometimes be negotiated depending work being done at the same time.
I may have missed it, but where are the warranty renewal prices that cheap?

Is that without Porsche Assist?

A discount too?

Cheers
