ive asked them if they could adjust the height, they told me they cannot do so (im not sure if its cannot, or would not. or both).
I would say they are being unhelpful. The cost to fit the 20mm lower (X73?) suspension is about £2000 and it is an officially offered dealer accessory. I would expect it to be a tiny bit cheaper to go to standard suspension non PASM setup from X73.

Perversely there's an adjacent thread wishing to lower the ride height

Moose may well be right, and your dealer certainly needs to be taken to task or a more knowledgable indy consulted. That said, it's not clear what setup - PASM or X73 you have at the moment, and therefore how much might be gained. It would also be very useful to know what setup others with the Cayman S have who appear not to have an issue. A bit of research on your part should reveal whether minor ride height changes will do the trick or whether it's the front apron that is the fundamental issue. On top of that comes the issue of cost to change - if it's major, then the cost of sacrificial plastic is put into perspective.
