FWIW there is a new one opening for South London, Sidcup later this year.
Music to my ears, as I am in Chislehurst... Do you know where exactly? The site of the old Lancaster Jaguar Dealership?I bet OPC Tonbridge are happy.
Stockton one should be opening in the not-do-distant future: https://www.jct600.co.uk/news/new-porsche-centre-f...
Run by JCT600 so perhaps they will mix-and-match staff for a while in order to spread knowledge and experience around between the three dealerships they control in Leeds, Newcastle and Stockton. who knows?!

Well, we shall see..................
There are some excellent mechs in the perceived 'lower echelons' of the motor trade and there are shocking attitudes to consumers within the 'non premier' showrooms. Indeed, the approach from some of the other premier German marques that I have experienced is lamentable.
The interview process/staff selection for any new dealership is critical. DP is important but the franchisee management is critical.

We are visiting Stockton OPC tomorrow morning with the PCGB R3 members, then onto Whitby for Fish and Chips Run by JCT600 so perhaps they will mix-and-match staff for a while in order to spread knowledge and experience around between the three dealerships they control in Leeds, Newcastle and Stockton. who knows?!

Newcastle is my 'local' OPC and they have been great, so if Stockton follows the same JCT600 pattern it should be a good place to visit and deal with.

Nice day out! Is it nearly finished, then?

It's open as far as I am aware, or certainly very close to the opening day.Newcastle is my 'local' OPC and they have been great, so if Stockton follows the same JCT600 pattern it should be a good place to visit and deal with.
Not visited my nearest OPC, Wolverhampton, (just 20 mins away) which opened a year or so back, but I understand it is owned by the same business as Sutton Coldfield, a dealership that IMHO is stuck in a bit of a funny location.
Wolvo is in a very good location, right on junction of A449 & M54 and theoretically - as this gives a huge effective catchment area - should do well. Key staff were imported from Sutton AFAIK.
Will hopefully have a gander tomorrow to catch Magnus Walker's book signing.

No idea how these things get allocated but I assume there's some kind of bidding process for a new franchise ?

As per title. How good/bad will a brand spanking new OPC be? Will they import knowledgable Porsche trained people or will they all be trained from scratch and be 'new to the brand', with which comes a curate's egg of experience.
As per all exemplar examination questions, 'Discuss'.
Swanley? As per all exemplar examination questions, 'Discuss'.
Things are looking up.

Wonder if they will do a 'grand opening'.
Visited the Teesside Centre today with 40 other Porsches and it is opening in 2-3 weeks time. The site is amazing and it will be a great addition to the Porsche network.Spoke to the new DP and some of the sales staff and they are very keen to establish themselves and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. For those local to the area I son't think you will be disappointed.
Its a shame that Sidcup is also Jardine group. The East London OPC is the same group and they are quite poorly organised and often won't even answer the phone.
I would have liked to have had a choice in my region but all the way from Colchester to Kent it's all Jardine.
I think this allows a group to be complacent as customers have little choice.
