This happened today. It's about the eight occasion in two years. Stones stick to the tyre on my drive & flick into the gap between the disc & the caliper. The only way to remove them is to take the wheel off & tease them out. Blooming end of days noise when one gets in.

I can't think of any way to protect the brakes, is there one? Really a pain in the backside.

Move house?

In all seriousness OP that would drive the hell into me; hopefully someone can come up with some sort of reasonable solution!

Can't do either of those, spent all my money on Porsches. Never known a car like it for this though.

Out of interest OP has that ever happened where the stone only makes a noise when the car is reversing? Our Cayenne started making a god awful screeching noice last weekend only when reversing. Wondering whether it's a stone...

Had it backwards & forwards, sometimes more pronounced on cornering. The stones grind against the disc & it is a godawful screeching.

I guess you don't track the car. Stick some high temperature tape over the top of the brake calliper aperture. It at least will stop the stones falling in. You can buy it from a company called Greentree http://www.greentree-shercon.co.uk
