718 GTS Launch

I've been playing with the configurator.

It seems to get the GTS interior you have to specify :

Alcantara Package GTS in conjunction with GTS interior package in Crayon = £1242

AND

GTS interior package = £2096

So over 3k to upgrade the leather and alcantara interior, to leather and alcantara with nice stiching and some carbon bits!

Wasn't it around £2k total on the old car?

Total rip-off, but it does look nice!

Anyone have the red interior pack with a blue exterior ( Sapphire? ) - I love the look but think the contrast might be a bit weird.

Can't remember but i think it was around the same in the old one? I it think it makes the car look and feel really special inside.

It was £2015 on the 981, so yes it's gone up quite a bit! Properly completes the interior though IMHO.

Didn't the 981 GTS have leather dash as standard over the S? Yet the 718 GTS doesn't, hence the £1,242 plus the GTS interior pack at £2,096.

Yep, the 981 had the leather dash as standard with black stitching. I was trying to work out from the configurator if the 718 GTS had a leather dash but couldn't tell. That may explain the extra cost.

I've just checked again and you're right - the standard 718 GTS spec is a plastic dashboard....

the GTS looks nice overall, but some details i find a bit brash, such as the blackened rear lights.

i've nothing against a bit of contrast detailing but everything black?

seems a bit OTT and boy racer to me vs the more refined 981GTS.

I agree. I think the Carmine/black combo works well on the launch cars if a little thuggish. I'm struggling to see how it would work on other colours though. The one I specced up in white just looked a bit nasty

I’m not sure on the gts interior upgrade, I like the press photos with red stitching but flipped to crayon as the car is graphite blue (didn’t know if the red went with anything) so on the fence on that

You may want to check about the PORSCHE logo on the centre console lid. On the 981 I don't think it came with the contrasting stitching that the rest of the interior had so it looked out of place. Might be worth checking if this is still the case on the 718 if that bothers you.

EDIT: It looks that way on the configurator - no contrast stitching.

There's only one option for it. Where did you find that pic?

This one is on Porsche UK and although hard to see I don't think it has red stitching. Like I said, you'll probably need your OPC to check it with Porsche directly.

I thought the same with Sapphire blue, also note the seatbelts are red which might not be a good contrast with the blue.

Is that still the case? On the configurator they look completely red, of course that could be wrong - there is no textual description to go on.

Just spotted the text description and it does say edges in contrasting colour.

Configurator image is wrong then.

I order mine with black/red leather interior, i deleted the alcatara standard interior and didn't want a black interior(never had a car with other colour than black interior).

Alot of money for the GTS full interior but it's a shame they dont do other colours.
