My Dealer says today .... may not be an announcement at the Frankfurt Show but his MD says GTS available to Order from October 2017 .

A dealer I spoke to was happy to put in writing that "we could get you a Cayman GTS by July with no problem". He was sure that it'd get announced in Frankfurt, but maybe they'll do a smaller thing just after.

Well it might be at the Tokyo show or Dubai show. But my money is an announcement at the LA motor show in December.

Just got back from visit to Frankfurt Motor Show and Stuttgart factory. Tried to otain info re GTS launch but everyone was very tight lipped! The only thing that one representative would confirm is that power will be 375 BHP and that GTS interior options will be very similar to 911 GTS (and hence 981 GTS) Since returning, press reports are indicating a November launch at LA.

The LA Show is actually December 1'st to 10'th ..... but I doubt that I shall be going after the Frankfurt disappointments .

There seem to be a fair few people on here who have put deposits down. I’ve had 3 OPCs tell me now that they shouldn’t (and therefore won’t) accept deposits yet.

Not sure if the one that told me that getting one by July “will be no problem” would stand by that statement now the car didn’t appear in Frankfurt, and given the other people who have managed to get ahead in the queue!

My OPC are standing by their October timescale though I am beginning to doubt it. Maybe some news at Tokyo motor show ?

Yeah same - they were convinced it would be a Frankfurt reveal and October order, but are now just saying October order. The Tokyo motor show tends to focus on Japanese / Asian cars, so I’m thinking it’ll just be a random announcement (to anyone not a fan of Porsche, it’s just a trim pack after all!).

My sentiments entirely. As i’ve mentioned here before the flat six in 981 GTS sounds even better than a 981 S with PSE, and is truly the heart and soul of the GTS. I do hope that somehow Porsche will improve, rather than simply amplify, the sound of the flat four over the existing 718 models.
